😮‍💨 I booked a staycay for myself

With all the wedding planning and stress, I decided to book this staycay last minute (earlier this Monday) for a weekend getaway.

Kempinski was having an up to 30% off stay for January so I took the plunge, especially it’s one of the properties that I’ve always been keen to try!

First off, with my GHA Titanium member I have received a 2-category room upgrade from the basic Deluxe room to Terrace room. This meant that my room comes with a balcony with city view.

Guests were also served with a welcome drink upon check-in!

Room was spacious enough, designs are more woody, with heritage colors, his/hers washing area, separated shower and bath tub. Shower amenities are from Ferragamo in mini bottles. In-room mini bar comes with free 1st round of drinks (non-alcoholic).

The package also comes with free breakfasts for 2 though my membership would’ve given me the same entitlement even without it!

We also used the $50 dining credit on their in-room dining and ordered Singapore Hokkien Mee ($28) and Mushroom Soup ($16). Food quality is alright but won’t order again as I’m never a fan of in-room dining options lol

Service level varies. I enjoyed all the interactions I had except for the receptionist when I was checking in and the staff who brought me up to my room.

WHY?

1) There was this weird interaction where the staff brought me OUT to the hotel drop-off area to request another staff to bring me to the room but the staff brought me back INTO the hotel lobby to take the lift up. Why make me walk twice?

2) Also the staff was not knowledgeable in terms of its hotel offerings. Told me my room is on the highest floor (thanks) but it’s also near the gym/pool/hall. I asked if the foot fall is high and will be too noisy for my stay and she was unsure and said not sure (thankfully the rooms were on the other end of the building away from the hustle bustle so it was alright). When I asked if the breakfast is buffet style or, the staff answered ‘not sure’ and that Sundays are weekend brunch????? Like okay thanks I’m not asking any further 😂

Overall I would say the property indeed reflects the five star hotel quality as promoted. Convenient to the malls as well as public transport.

Will I stay again? Maybe if I could get it at the same package and price I paid for. 😆

What really enhanced my experience was the GHA Titanium membership upgrade, turning a standard room into a spacious terrace room with a stunning city view — a perfect little retreat. One tip I learned is to double-check hotel staff knowledge about amenities and services. I ran into some confusion about breakfast options and room location noise levels, so don’t hesitate to ask specific questions upfront or request quieter rooms if that’s important to you. Also, while in-room dining can be convenient, I found the food quality to be average and personally prefer dining out. However, the $50 dining credit included in my package was a nice bonus to try a couple of dishes. Lastly, accessibility to malls and public transport added great convenience to my weekend getaway, making it easy to step out for last-minute needs or just a change of scenery. Overall, if you find a good deal like the 30% off promotion I scored in January, a Kempinski staycation can be a worthwhile indulgence to recharge.
