Italian sausage orzo pasta
To make you will need Italian sausage if your choice, half of an onion. Cook sausage add onion and cook for a couple minutes add 1 cup of Orzo pasta and 1 tablespoon of Jarlic.Add 1 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Add half a jar of sun-dried tomatoes or to your liking. Bring to boil and cook till pasta is done. Add a cup of grated Parmesan cheese or more if you like and finally add 2 cups of spinach. Cook till spinach is cooked down. Serve with breadsticks and enjoy. My absolute new favorite meal.
Italian sausage orzo pasta is a comforting and versatile dish that can easily be customized to suit your taste preferences. Using orzo pasta creates a delightful texture that mimics rice but absorbs flavors beautifully, making it a perfect base for the rich sauce made from chicken broth and heavy cream. Adding sun-dried tomatoes imparts a tangy sweetness that balances the savory sausage and sharp Parmesan cheese. For variations, consider swapping Italian sausage for turkey or chicken sausage to lighten the dish or adding different vegetables like mushrooms or bell peppers to increase nutrition and crunch. Fresh spinach not only adds vibrant color but also a boost of vitamins and minerals, while cooking it down helps meld all flavors seamlessly. When preparing this recipe, remember to cook the sausage and onions thoroughly before adding the orzo to build a savory foundation. The combination of garlic, chicken broth, and cream creates a luscious sauce that should be simmered until the orzo is perfectly tender. Grated Parmesan cheese added towards the end enriches the dish with a creamy, salty finish. Serve alongside crunchy breadsticks or garlic bread to complement the creamy pasta and enhance your dining experience. This dish is ideal for busy weeknights or casual gatherings since it’s straightforward to prepare yet feels indulgent. Leftovers can be refrigerated and taste even better the next day as the flavors deepen, making Italian sausage orzo pasta a great make-ahead option. Overall, it’s a delicious and hearty meal that showcases the wonderful combination of Italian sausage and orzo pasta enhanced with fresh and sun-dried ingredients.
