Social Security Faith Crisis. What You Need to Know Before You Don't Have Retirement Money

Working people's money is melting, unfolding the social security crisis that you need to know before you don't have retirement money.

2026 is the year of the nightmare of Thai payroll because we are about to get more money in our pockets, from a maximum payment of 750 baht to jump to 875 baht per month. The public sector has given a fancy reason for the sustainability of more funds and benefits. But under those statements, it hides the truth that is more rotten and terrifying than it seems. Because the real reason why the fund is shattered is not just because Thai people are getting older, but because the last savings of our lives have been used to investment with long-standing clues.

An investment epic or money extravaganza.

If you think that social security money is quietly deposited into a bank, you are wrong, because tens of billions of our money is flowing out into business deals that people still shake.

Let's start with a fresh wound like the SKYY9 project in Rama IX, which became a hot topic when it was revealed that Social Security approved more than $6,900 million to buy the building, even though the actual valuation from many bureaux indicated that it was only about $3,000 million. The question is, where did this huge difference of nearly $3,000 go into anyone's pocket and why did you buy the building that the original owner had a connection to the old political power network?

Repeated by the case, EA shares, former clean energy stocks that today became hell stocks, Social Security took this stock at a high price with our tax dollars, but when the company was in crisis, corrupt executives, instead of the fund, rushed to cut off to preserve the principal, hugged this stock until it was almost zero. Almost a billion melted away before their eyes without anyone showing responsibility. It was investment innocence or an order to carry the magnate.

Not counting the TU Dome project, a student dormitory that has invested so much but managed so badly that it has to record a loss in accounting, even though such a gold location is supposed to be a mistake. These are not just mistakes, but receipts that show that our money has always been used as a financial tool for capital groups and politicians.

A painful double standard. The bureaucrats survived, but we didn't survive.

The most obvious injustice is that when we look at frogs, civil service pension funds, they have the right to choose their own investment plans, have transparent management professionals, and make much better returns. While private payroll men like us are tied up, forced to pay, forced to take risks, and do not have the right to choose, we have to watch their money be risked in the stock market without direction, or buy an overly expensive building.

Compared to a global scale like the sovereign wealth funds of Norway or Canada, the more we are lagging behind, these countries build a barrier to prevent politicians from meddling in the coffers, run by professionals for the highest profit of the people, but in Thailand, the board is full of quotas from appointments and government representatives who have to be considerate of politicians, so the coffers are seen as just government reserves or partisan funding rather than as collateral for the lives of the people.

Time bombs that are counting down

Global actuaries have long warned that with the current structure, the Thai Social Security Fund will start to run a negative cash flow deficit in less than 10 years and become bankrupt. The money will run out within 30 years. This means that the new generation who are just starting to work, or those aged 30 to 40 today, are paying every month for their parents' generation to use, but when you retire, this fund will not leave you a single baht.

Solving problems by spilling blood on crabs, raising the contribution ceiling, or extending the retirement age is just buying time and pushing the burden on working people without touching the real problem: rotten administrative structures and conflicts of exploitation.

It's time to make a sound before it's too late.

This isn't far away, it's about pocket money and rice, fish, food in your old age. If we keep the administration intact, allow him to raise social security without questioning, and let the silence disappear like a shore wave, one day we might wake up to find that the money saved in our lives has become an unusable number in the air.

Society must stop seeing this as a complex technique, but it must be seen that this is an economic crime committed against working people in cold blood. We must demand that social security boards be reformed 100% independent of politicians, that portfolios be disclosed in real time, and that there must be severe criminal penalties for executives who waste money on the whole nation.

Don't wait until the day the fund falls and then come out screaming, because even that day, even if you cry for blood tears, no one can give you your money back.
