Front Door Makeover
Fall is here and I wanted to add a little decor to my front door. How did I do?
You know that feeling when fall finally arrives and you just want to make everything cozy? That's exactly how I felt about my front door this year! My goal was to create a welcoming and beautiful entrance without breaking the bank. I wanted to share some of the easy doorway entrance ideas I used to give my front door a complete fall makeover. The first thing I always think about for a fall front door makeover is a wreath. Instead of buying a new one every year, I often start with a basic evergreen or grapevine wreath and then add seasonal picks – think faux maple leaves, small pumpkins, or even some rustic berries. It’s amazing how much a well-placed wreath can transform your front entrance, instantly announcing the season! Next up, the doormat! This is such an easy way to inject personality and seasonality. I found a cute one with a pumpkin design, but even a simple plaid or buffalo check mat can instantly scream 'fall vibes.' Layering a smaller, decorative mat over a larger, plain one is a popular trend that adds so much visual interest to your porch area. If you have space on your front porch, adding some seasonal planters can really elevate the whole look. Mums are a classic for a reason – their vibrant colors are perfect for autumn! I also love incorporating ornamental kale or even some small hay bales for that rustic touch. Don't forget to add a few gourds or mini pumpkins around the base of your planters for an extra festive flourish. This really helps tie the whole makeover together and brings in that charming fall harvest feel. Consider the lighting too! If you have sconces by your door, perhaps add a cozy, warmer-toned bulb, or string up some battery-operated fairy lights around your wreath or bannister for an evening glow. Even simple details like a cute welcome sign or a small basket filled with pinecones can make a huge difference in creating that inviting doorway entrance atmosphere. What I love most about a fall front door makeover is that you don't need to spend a fortune. A lot of these ideas can be DIY projects or found at local craft stores. It's all about bringing in those warm, earthy tones and textures that represent autumn. I'd love to hear your favorite fall decor tips too – what's your go-to item for autumn curb appeal?
