Philosophy, not ideas.
When I was a student, I studied Western philosophy and sought fellowships in universities and off-campus circles. But it was futile. If you are awakened to Western philosophical issues such as metaphysics, there is something to be aware of. It is thought-loving students who seem to be talking about the world, about human life and death, or scholars who call themselves thinkers rather than philosophers. They generally talk about gender, gender, and specific political and social ideas. They seem to have the same problem consciousness as us and talk about various problems, but the decisive thing is that there are many cases where they have no problem consciousness about the world, human existence, the soul, consciousness, and above all, how human beings should live. Even if they do, those problems are secondary to them, and their interests are often gender, socialism, specific social problems, political problems, and economic problems. It is useful to confront their own philosophical problems without interacting with them.

Theory of existence
「思想家と哲学者の違いって何？」と検索していた頃、私は正直“言葉のイメージ”でしか区別できていませんでした。でも、大学の授業や学外の読書会に出入りしてみると、同じ「深い話」をしているようで、問いの向きがまったく違う場面に何度も出会いました。 私の中で一番わかりやすかった整理は、「何を最優先の問いにしているか」です。 ■哲学者（哲学する人）が中心に置きやすい問い ・世界はどう成り立っているのか（存在論・形而上学） ・心／意識／魂とは何か、身体とどう関係するのか ・真理とは何か、知るとはどういうことか（認識論） ・人はどう生きるべきか、善悪は何に根拠づくのか（倫理） このタイプの話は、結論がすぐ社会制度や政策に落ちないことも多く、むしろ「前提を疑う」「定義を詰める」方向に進みがちです。周囲から見ると遠回りで、孤独に見えることもあります。画像の「魂なき言葉に囲まれて／哲学者の孤独」という感覚は、私にはかなり刺さりました。 ■思想家が扱いやすい領域（※良し悪しではなく傾向） 一方で「思想家とは？」と考えると、社会や歴史の文脈で“こう考えるべきだ”“こう変えるべきだ”という主張を組み立てる人、という印象が強いです。ジェンダー、政治、経済、社会運動など、具体的な社会課題への視点が軸になりやすい。ここでは、哲学的な議論（人間観・価値観の根本）よりも、現実の権力関係や制度設計、言説の分析が前に出ることがあります。 ■混同しないためのチェック（私が使っていた基準） 1) その人は「存在・意識・魂」の話に戻ってくるか？ 2) 「どう生きるべきか」を“自分の問題”として掘るか、それとも“社会の問題”として語り切るか？ 3) まず定義・前提を固めるか、まず結論（主張）を提示するか？ もちろん、哲学者が社会思想を語ることもあるし、思想家が形而上学的に深いこともあります。ただ、私の経験上「哲学のつもりで参加したら、いつの間にか特定の政治的立場の確認作業になっていた」みたいな場は、消耗しやすかったです。 もしあなたが西洋哲学や存在論に目覚めたばかりなら、まずは“自分が本当に問いたい問い”を紙に書き出しておくのがおすすめです。議論が流れても、そのメモに戻れると、思想と哲学の境界で迷子になりにくくなりました。
