The “PRAY” method
I tend to struggle when it comes to talking with our father. So I found a method that started helping me a lot and thought I’d share it for those who may also need it💕
Hopefully it helps as much as it helped me and your praying journey becomes stronger as you grow🙌🏼
I also started a podcast named “Drive With Faith” and I recently talked about this in the “power of prayer” episode so if you can, go check it out and share it more and I pray God speaks to your heart in some way.
Be blessed and Jesus loves you🫶🏼
Hey everyone! Following up on my earlier post about the PRAY method, I really wanted to dive deeper because I know so many of us, myself included, sometimes struggle with prayer. It’s not always easy to know what to say or how to approach our Father, and that’s totally okay. But finding a structured way to connect can make all the difference, and that's exactly what the PRAY method offers. Let's break down each step of P.R.A.Y. so you can truly understand its power and how it can transform your personal prayer journey. P - Praise: This is where we start by giving thanks to God. It’s not just about reciting blessings, but truly acknowledging His goodness and majesty. Think about His character, His faithfulness, and all the beautiful things He has done in your life and the world around you. Even when things are tough, there's always something to be grateful for. Just like that image of holding flowers next to an open Bible, it’s about offering our heartfelt appreciation. This act of praising God shifts our focus from our problems to His power, reminding us of His sovereignty and love. It sets a positive, faith-filled tone for the rest of our prayer time. R - Repent: This step is about humbly apologizing for anything that has displeased God. It’s more than just saying "sorry"; it's about genuine sorrow for our sins and a commitment to change our actions. It’s acknowledging where we’ve fallen short and asking for His forgiveness and guidance to do better. This isn't meant to make us feel guilty, but to cleanse our hearts and minds, allowing us to draw closer to Him with a clean slate. Just like the image with the open book and coffee, it’s a moment for reflection and honest self-assessment, a quiet resolve to turn away from what separates us from God. A - Ask: Now, with a heart of praise and repentance, we can confidently bring our requests before God. This is where we lay out our needs, desires, and concerns. The beautiful thing is, as that image of the open Bible with delicate flowers reminds us, questions are always allowed! Don't hold back. Whether it’s for wisdom, healing, provision, or guidance, God wants us to come to Him with everything. He cares about the big things and the small things in our lives. It’s an act of trust, believing that He hears us and will respond according to His perfect will. Y - Yield: This might be the most challenging, but also the most freeing step: yielding. It means surrendering our worries, our plans, our anxieties, and even our requests into God's hands. It's letting go of control and trusting that His way is always best, even if it's different from what we imagined. That image of the person with curly hair, the open Bible, and flowers reminds us to simply place everything before Him. This step builds immense faith, as we learn to rest in His sovereignty, knowing He is working all things for our good. It’s about finding peace in His plan, not our own. The PRAY method isn't just a formula; it's a pathway to a more intimate and consistent relationship with God. It helps us overcome that feeling of being "stuck" or "struggling with prayer" by providing a clear, loving framework. By practicing Praise, Repent, Ask, and Yield, you’ll find your prayer life becoming richer, more meaningful, and deeply connected to God's heart. Keep pressing in, your prayer journey is worth it!
