Why you should read 7 Days in June this summer

7 days in june 💘 a summer read that surprised me (in the best way)

There’s just something about a summer read. A book that flows easily but still hits emotionally? Seven Days in June by Tia Williams gave me exactly that.

I don’t typically reach for romance, but this one felt different. The characters are both writers. They’re messy. They’re raw. They have real trauma and complicated pasts, and it all unravels in just seven days.

Also?? The mother-daughter moments? SO GOOD. It made me think about legacy, healing, and the quiet ways we show love.

📚 Seven Days in June by Tia Williams

Genre: Romance, lit-fic, second-chance

Rating: 4.3/5

Read if you love: slow burn, emotional chaos, characters who get it.

... Read moreSummer is the ideal time to immerse yourself in a captivating book, and 'Seven Days in June' is no exception. Tia Williams masterfully creates a narrative that entwines romance with deeper emotional struggles, making it a standout in the genre. The story revolves around two writers whose connection spans years filled with trauma and healing, set against the backdrop of intense summer heat. Readers will be drawn to the authentic representation of the Black literary community showcased throughout the book, providing a much-needed perspective in contemporary literature. The relationship between the characters is central, especially the poignant mother-daughter dynamics that resonate deeply with readers. It's a tale not only of love and romance but of legacy—how our pasts influence our present. The writing itself is described as stunning, drawing readers into the complexities of life and relationships, urging them to reflect on their own narratives. For those seeking a slow-burn romance that delivers emotional highs and lows, 'Seven Days in June' is a must-read this summer. Expect to be captivated by the characters' journeys and the underlying messages of healing and acceptance. It’s the perfect choice for readers looking for depth and authenticity in their summer literary escape.
