What only eating fruits and vegetables did to me
7 day fruit and vegetable cleanse
🤍 My Story: I have always struggled with my body image, and as a result I developed a poor relationship with food. I know I’m not special in this regard, almost every woman I know deals with something like this, but I needed to find a way to feel control around food, so I decided to participate in a 6 day fruit and vegetable cleanse.
🤍 How I Felt: this cleanse was honestly one of the hardest things I’ve done for myself. I have never had control around food, and usually give in to my cravings, so to only eat fruits and vegetables for one week was super eye opening about the control I have over my own eating.
🤍 My Takeaways: through the cleanse I didn’t weigh myself, but through photos I lost a lot of water weight, my bloat was gone, and I even went down a pant size. I didn’t do this cleanse to starve myself or restrict to lose weight, but more so to learn to control myself around food so I can start to lose weight in a healthy way. I would 100% do this cleanse again

A fruit and vegetable cleanse is a popular way to reset your body, support digestion, and enhance mental clarity. During such cleanses, individuals consume only fruits and vegetables for a set period, typically ranging from 3 to 7 days. These cleanses focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants that help reduce inflammation and support detoxification. One major benefit of a fruit and vegetable cleanse is the reduction of bloating and water retention. Fruits and vegetables are naturally low in sodium and high in potassium, promoting better fluid balance in the body. Additionally, their high fiber content can improve digestion and support gut health, contributing to a flatter and more comfortable abdominal area. Aside from physical benefits, these cleanses also promote greater awareness and control over eating habits. Avoiding processed foods and sugars allows individuals to break cravings and reset their palate, which may lead to healthier long-term dietary choices. This mental reset can be especially valuable for people struggling with emotional or disordered eating. However, it is important to approach cleanses thoughtfully. Prolonged restriction or lack of protein and fat can lead to nutrient deficiencies or energy imbalances. Consulting a healthcare professional before starting any cleanse ensures it suits your individual health needs. The author's experience during this 7-day fruit and vegetable cleanse aligns with common outcomes reported by practitioners: decreased bloating, water weight loss, and improved self-control around food. By focusing on these whole foods, the body received abundant nutrients while the mind gained insight into eating patterns. For those interested in trying a similar cleanse, starting with a shorter duration and gradually increasing can be helpful. Incorporating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables ensures a broad spectrum of nutrients. Smoothies, salads, and steamed vegetables can keep meals enjoyable and satisfying. Ultimately, a fruit and vegetable cleanse can be a beneficial tool for improving body image, reducing bloating, and fostering healthier eating habits when practiced safely and mindfully.
