Call of Duty Team & Hardpoint
You know that feeling in Call of Duty’s Hardpoint gamemode, right? You’re dedicated, you’re taking a Hardpoint, maybe you just cleared it out, and then the enemy starts pushing. You check your mini-map, expect backup, but oh! Your teammates are no where in sight. It’s a classic Hardpoint struggle, and honestly, it happens to the best of us! Hardpoint is all about holding specific zones for points. It's not just about kills; it's about objective control. But sometimes, it feels like you're the only one who got the memo. So, what do you do when you find yourself as the lone wolf defending the objective against an onslaught? Here are my personal tips and strategies for surviving (and maybe even thriving) when your squad seems to have forgotten their way to the Hardpoint. 1. Master Your Positioning: When you’re alone, every piece of cover counts. Don’t just stand in the middle of the Hardpoint like a target dummy. Find angles, get behind objects, use headglitches. Anticipate where enemies will come from and pre-aim those lanes. Your goal isn't necessarily to get a quad feed, but to stay alive and keep the timer ticking. A well-placed trophy system can also be a lifesaver against incoming grenades and tactical equipment, buying you precious seconds. 2. Mini-Map Awareness is Key: This is crucial. Pay attention to enemy pings, teammates' deaths, and spawn flips. If you see your team dying across the map, it's a good indicator that enemy spawns are shifting, and they'll be coming for your Hardpoint soon. Knowing this allows you to reposition or even consider a tactical retreat if you're completely outnumbered. Sometimes, it's better to give up the Hardpoint for a few seconds to regroup than to feed the enemy free kills. 3. Use Your Utility Wisely: Those smokes, stun grenades, and flashbangs aren’t just for show. If you’re being pushed hard, a well-timed smoke can obscure enemy vision, letting you either reposition or secure a few crucial seconds on the objective. Stuns can slow down pushes, making enemies easier targets. Don't hoard them; use them to defend your turf. 4. Don't Be Afraid to Disengage: This might sound counter-intuitive, but if you're taking a Hardpoint and you’re overwhelmed, sometimes the best move is to drop off the point, heal up, and re-challenge. Dying on the Hardpoint just feeds the enemy scorestreaks and gives them easy control. Pick your battles when you’re solo. If you can hold it for 5-10 seconds and then fall back to heal and re-engage, that’s often more valuable than just getting instantly wiped. 5. The Mental Game: It's incredibly frustrating when your teammates aren't playing the objective. I've had countless moments where I'm yelling at my screen, wondering what on earth they're doing. But remember, you can only control your own gameplay. Focus on what you can do – hold those points, get those pivotal kills, and try to make the most out of a bad situation. Sometimes, your solo effort can inspire others, or at least give your team a fighting chance. And hey, those solo Hardpoint holds become legendary stories in your own mind! It's all part of the Hardpoint experience. What are your tips for when your CoD team decides to go on a scenic tour instead of hitting the objective?
