You know that feeling when you're working on your car, trying to get into those awkward spots under the chassis, and you're either straining your neck on a cold garage floor or fumbling with a flashlight that just won't stay put? I've been there countless times! That's exactly why I decided to invest in the RYOBI 18V Dual Function Lighted Creeper/Seat, and let me tell you, it's been an absolute game-changer for my home garage setup. What immediately drew me in was the 'dual functionality' – it’s not just a creeper; it transforms quickly into a comfortable seat. This might seem like a small detail, but it’s incredibly practical. When I’m doing an oil change or working on the exhaust, I can easily slide under the car on the creeper. The smooth-rolling casters make maneuvering a breeze, saving my back and knees from unnecessary strain. But then, if I need to work on the brakes, clean the wheels, or just take a quick break, I can just flip it up and have a sturdy, padded seat. No more grabbing a random bucket or kneeling uncomfortably. It’s truly versatile for any automotive task, whether you’re low to the ground or need to sit comfortably to reach wheel wells. The 'lighted' aspect is another standout feature that I can’t rave enough about. Powered by the RYOBI 18V ONE+ battery (which I already have plenty of!), the integrated LED lights are a lifesaver. Before, I’d be juggling a separate work light, trying to position it just right, only for it to get knocked over or cast shadows in all the wrong places. With this creeper, the lights are right where you need them, illuminating your workspace directly. It makes seeing those small bolts, leaky lines, or intricate components so much clearer, improving both efficiency and safety. I've found it invaluable for those darker recesses under the engine or chassis, making tasks like changing fuel filters or inspecting wiring so much less frustrating. Beyond the core functions, the build quality feels solid. The padding on both the creeper and seat modes is surprisingly comfortable, which is a huge plus during longer sessions. It’s designed to withstand the typical grime and abuse of a workshop environment. For anyone who spends time wrenching on cars, doing DIY projects around the house, or even just detailing vehicles, having a reliable and comfortable way to get at low-level tasks is essential. If you’re considering upgrading your shop tools, especially if you're already in the RYOBI 18V ONE+ ecosystem, this creeper seat is a fantastic addition. It simplifies access, brightens up your work, and offers much-needed comfort and versatility. It's truly one of those tools you wonder how you ever managed without once you start using it regularly. From quick checks to full-blown repairs, it handles it all.
I will never buy Ryobi products again. They killed someone I knew. They knew of a flaw that could make their riding mowers burst into flames. The had to pay out when it caused a person’s garage to burn down. The changed to design, and made an inexpensive fix for the ones with the flaw, but they wouldn’t do a recall, or send to fix to owners of the defective mowers. They wouldn’t even notify the owners and tell them of the fix. The mower of someone I knew burst into flames, but he was on the mower at the time. His wife was there and couldn’t do anything because he was completely engulfed in flames. She watch her husband burn to death.
