Plant Diary 🌱
I decided to give my green thumb a try and picked up a new hobby. Plants! 🌱 After months of trial and error (and way too many plant videos 😅) I think I’m finally starting to understand them a little better.
I started off simple with a pothos, and that little baby in the pic actually grew from just a node 🥹
Chase and I named it Wall-E 😂💚
Since then, my collection has grown!
I just welcomed a Dieffenbachia, and most recently my pride and joy, Monstera (my baby).
This is going to be my little diary to track their growth and my plant journey 🌿✨
Today I had bought a rod for my Monstera to climb and added plant clamps to hold them together, hopefully this will let them grow a lot bigger. If you know anything about plants or about Monsteras please let me know what I can do better for them. 😇
Question: what is a good cheaper alternative for nutrients for all plants?
Starting a plant collection like mine can be incredibly rewarding, especially when you watch a tiny node transform into a thriving pothos vine. For beginners, pothos is a fantastic choice because it's very forgiving and grows well even if you sometimes forget to water. One key to healthy plant growth is providing support, especially for climbing varieties like Monstera. Using a sturdy moss pole or rod helps your Monstera mimic its natural rainforest environment, encouraging larger leaves and robust growth. Clamps or soft ties can gently secure the plant stems without damage. When it comes to affordable nutrient options, many plant enthusiasts turn to natural homemade fertilizers. Compost tea, diluted fish emulsion, or even used coffee grounds offer rich nutrients at a lower cost than commercial fertilizers. Additionally, regular feeding during the growing season can make a marked difference in your plants’ health. For Dieffenbachia, ensure it has bright indirect light and keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. They are sensitive to cold drafts and prefer warmer temperatures. Regular dusting of the leaves helps maximize photosynthesis and keeps your plant looking vibrant. Since I'm documenting my plant journey here, I invite fellow plant lovers to share their experiences or advice, especially for Monsteras. Small care tweaks or nutrient tips can make a big impact. Remember, patience and observation are key—the more you care and learn, the more your indoor garden will flourish. Happy planting!

Looks like my house right now I am propagating a lot of my plants so they are jars on every window ceil
