As someone who formerly worked at canes and still eats there occasionally, here is what I ask for when I go.
I get a Box Combo which comes with 4 chicken fingers, Crinkle Cut Fries, Texas Toast, Coleslaw, Canes Sauce, and a drink.
My substitutions:
Instead of Slaw I get extra Texas Toast
Instead of Canes Sauce I get Honey Mustard (controversial i know)
I get my toast B. O. B (butter on both sides)
I always get lemonade for my drink
How I ask for it;
Can I get a box combo, no slaw, extra toast, with butter on both sides please, sub canes sauce for honey mustard. And for my drink can I get lemonade with less ice.
... Read moreHey fellow Cane's lovers! Mia's custom Box Combo order is absolutely genius, especially that B.O.B. Texas Toast and honey mustard swap – seriously, a game-changer! As someone who's also spent their fair share of time enjoying Raising Cane's, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into navigating their menu and finding your perfect meal. While the Box Combo is a classic (and what Mia so perfectly customized), there are a few other popular options and hacks you should know about, especially if you're looking to explore beyond the standard order.
Let's talk combos! The Box Combo is what many people start with, offering four crispy chicken fingers, a generous serving of crinkle-cut fries, a slice of Texas toast, coleslaw, and of course, that iconic Cane's Sauce, all served in a convenient basket, often alongside a refreshing drink in one of their signature red branded cups. It's a fantastic, well-rounded meal.
But what if you're not that hungry, or maybe you're looking for something bigger? That's where the 3-Finger Combo comes in – it's essentially the Box Combo minus one chicken finger and the coleslaw, perfect for a lighter bite while still getting your fix of those delicious chicken fingers, fries, and toast. Then, for those with a serious appetite, there's the legendary Caniac Combo. This feast includes six chicken fingers, a larger portion of crinkle-cut fries, two slices of Texas toast, coleslaw, two Cane's Sauces, and a large drink. It's truly a spread!
Now, beyond Mia's brilliant swaps, what other customizations can you try?
Sauce Exploration: While Mia opts for honey mustard (a brave choice for Cane's purists!), don't be shy about asking for extra Cane's Sauce or even requesting a mix of sauces. Some locations might have other options like BBQ sauce, so it never hurts to ask!
Toast Texture: Mia's B.O.B. (butter on both sides) Texas Toast is a must-try. You can also ask for your toast "extra crispy" if you prefer a bit more crunch.
Fries, Your Way: Just like the chicken, you can request your crinkle-cut fries to be "extra crispy" or even "no salt" if you're managing your sodium intake.
Drink Mix-ups: Besides Mia's lemonade with less ice, consider mixing sweet tea and unsweet tea for a perfect balance, or even adding a splash of your favorite soda to the lemonade for a custom "dirty soda" experience.
And for some quick hacks:
"Extra Crispy" Everything: If you like a good crunch, don't hesitate to ask for your chicken fingers and fries to be cooked "extra crispy."
Side Orders: Remember, you can always add extra chicken fingers or an additional piece of Texas toast to any combo if you're feeling a little hungrier.
No Slaw, Double Fries/Toast: Like Mia, many people aren't fans of the coleslaw. You can often swap it for extra fries or another slice of Texas toast, making your meal even more satisfying!
Experimenting with your order makes eating at Raising Cane's even more fun. The staff are usually super friendly and happy to help you get your meal just right. So next time you're craving those iconic chicken fingers, don't just stick to the menu – make it *yours*!
