If you're looking to elevate your home-cooked meals, making a garlic butter surf and turf dinner is a fantastic way to impress family and guests alike. One of the key points to mastering this dish is using good quality ribeye steaks. Ribeye offers that rich marbling which keeps the steak juicy and flavorful when cooked properly – I recommend a cast-iron skillet for that perfect sear. Remember to pat the steaks dry to ensure a nice crust forms, then season thoroughly with garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning for a balanced flavor. For the shrimp, using large peeled and deveined shrimp makes cooking quick and effortless. The garlic butter mixture with hints of smoked paprika and cayenne adds a wonderful smoky heat, while fresh lemon juice at the end brightens the flavor profile. I find that cooking the shrimp just until they turn pink keeps them tender and prevents rubberiness. Creamy mashed potatoes made with Yukon Gold potatoes, butter, sour cream, and heavy cream create the perfect comforting side, while the addition of garlic powder ties them into the theme seamlessly. When preparing the garlic Parmesan asparagus, sautéing it until just tender-crisp preserves a nice texture, and finishing with Parmesan cheese adds a savory touch. In my experience, resting the steak after cooking is crucial—it allows the juices to redistribute for maximum flavor and tenderness. Topping each steak with the homemade garlic herb butter as it rests infuses it with fresh herb aromas and extra richness. Pairing this meal with a grilled lemon half for garnish not only adds visual appeal but gives an optional citrus squeeze that enhances the seafood’s flavors. This surf and turf dinner balances rich, buttery elements with fresh, vibrant seasonings, making it an excellent choice for celebrations or a special weeknight treat. Plus, the recipes use simple pantry staples without sacrificing flavor. Give this recipe a try and you’ll have a gourmet meal that’s both satisfying and memorable.

Delicious!! 🥰
