... Read moreStarting to choose yourself is truly a transformative experience that goes beyond just physical changes. From my own journey, embracing self-love and prioritizing my well-being has been the foundation of lasting success. One key element that helped me was maintaining a sustainable calorie deficit by combining regular gym sessions—about 3 times a week—with aiming for 10k steps daily. This balance keeps the body active without feeling overwhelmed. Proper nutrition played a huge role too. I made sure to consume 1 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, which helped me feel fuller longer and supported muscle maintenance during weight loss. Using apps like NutriPlan or others for tracking calories and macros can simplify this process. They help you stay accountable, and also provide insightful feedback like health scores for your meals—like a breakfast of avocado, egg toast, and fresh veggies scoring 75/100, which was both nutritious and satisfying. Beyond numbers and food, the mental shift toward loving yourself is crucial. Often, the heartache and past setbacks can make it hard to prioritize your needs. But choosing yourself means showing up every day for your health and happiness. Celebrating before and after progress not only motivates but reinforces how far you've come. Remember, this journey is personal and unique for everyone. It’s about making consistent, small choices that reflect your self-worth. Don’t rush it; enjoy the process of becoming your best self physically and mentally. With patience and determination, choosing yourself can lead to profound changes in all areas of life.
