Why aren’t clothes true to size anymore?
I just got these amazing leopard jeans,, we all know them they’ve been trending for some time now !!
However I got the smallest size as I read to size down. This size is normally one size too big but these were legit 3 sizes too big.
This is after the waist was pulled in so it’s hard to tell, but the room in legs say it all! These are supposed to be a baggier denim but not this baggy 😭
I find this has been happening with 8/10 brands that I order clothes from. It’s so sad because I love the styles but then I have to pay more $$ at the Seemstress to even be able to wear them.
Does this happen to you? What are some affordable clothing brands that run true to size?! Let me know!

You know, seeing posts like yours about those super trendy Edikted leopard jeans really hits home! It's so incredibly frustrating when you fall in love with a style, like those amazing leopard print jeans, only to find the sizing is completely off. What's meant to be a cool, slightly oversized fit often turns into just plain baggy, and not in a good way. It feels like a gamble every time you click 'add to cart' these days! So, why does this happen? There are a few reasons for this sizing chaos. Firstly, 'vanity sizing' is a big culprit – brands adjust their measurements so you can fit into a smaller size, making you feel better, but it throws off consistency across the board. Secondly, fast fashion cycles mean clothes are produced quickly, sometimes with less rigorous quality control or standardized sizing. One brand's 'small' can be another's 'large,' and it's even worse when an item like popular edikted leopard jeans is supposed to be baggy, but it's just disproportionately huge. Navigating this sizing minefield requires a few smart strategies. My top tip: always check the specific garment measurements if they're available, not just the generic size chart. A tape measure is your best friend here! Read customer reviews, especially those that mention height, weight, and the size they bought – real-world feedback is invaluable. Also, pay attention to the fabric composition; denim with more stretch will fit differently than rigid denim. Sometimes, if I'm really unsure, I'll order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit. It's a hassle, but it beats having a closet full of clothes I can't wear. And what about when you do end up with an ill-fitting piece, just like your leopard print jeans? Sometimes, tailoring is the only answer. The image you shared, with an older woman adjusting the jeans, perfectly illustrates this common problem. While it's an added expense, for a truly beloved or unique item, alterations can be a worthy investment to get that perfect fit. I’ve learned to find a good, affordable seamstress in my area. For simpler fixes, YouTube tutorials can guide you on small DIY adjustments like taking in a waist or hemming. But for something as complex as a whole pair of baggy jeans, professional tailoring is often the way to go to ensure they look sharp, not just shrunken. Finding brands that are reliably true to size feels like discovering a hidden gem. It’s a journey of trial and error, but some brands are known for more consistent sizing across their lines. I usually look for brands that offer detailed size guides, sometimes even with specific body measurements, or those that cater to petite, tall, or curvy fits. It's a shame we have to work so hard to find clothes that just *fit*, but until sizing becomes more standardized, sharing our experiences and tips is the best way to help each other out!

Theyre supposed to be baggy, just get a different style of jeans
