A Tiny Dessert I Made This Week
I made this tiny dessert sandwich this week, mostly because I wanted something sweet, simple, and a little pretty.
It’s not a serious recipe. More like a small kitchen experiment. I was inspired by a recipe I saw on another social platform, then made my own little version with ingredients from Trader Joe’s.
Was it perfect? Not really.
Was it a little messy? Very.
But I kind of loved that 😂😋
There’s something comforting about making something with your hands, especially when the week feels full of screens, plans, and unfinished thoughts.
Not everything we make has to be useful, optimized, or impressive.
Sometimes it can just be sweet, and it’s enough to make an ordinary week feel softer.

What I used:
- Trader Joe’s chocolate brioche toast
- fresh strawberries
- Trader Joe’s caramel flan
- Trader Joe’s vanilla mascarpone (you can substitute this with yogurt if you want something lighter)
How I made it:
- toast the bread (or keep it soft if you prefer)
- place strawberries around the flan
- add a creamy mascarpone layer
- close with another piece of bread
- wrap, chill it in the fridge for about 15 mins, and cut

Would you try this as a breakfast treat or an afternoon coffee snack? I feel like it belongs with coffee. ☕️
