Makeup for 13 year olds 💓
Just a simple routine for teens!
Starting to explore makeup at 13 can be super exciting, but also a bit overwhelming! Many of you might be wondering, "Can I even wear makeup?" or "What's a good makeup routine for 13-year-olds that's not too much?" I totally get it! My philosophy for teens is always 'less is more' – makeup should enhance your natural beauty, not hide it. It’s about feeling confident and having fun, not transforming into someone else. Here’s a simple, beginner-friendly routine that's perfect for a fresh, natural look, incorporating some of the basics I use: First things first: Skincare is key! Before any makeup, make sure your face is clean and moisturized. A good base makes all the difference. Concealer: This is your secret weapon for those sleepy mornings or an occasional blemish. Just a tiny dot under your eyes to brighten, or on any small spots. Remember to blend, blend, blend with your finger or a small brush until it disappears. The goal is to even out your skin tone, not mask it. Bronzer: For a little warmth, gently sweep a touch of bronzer on your forehead, a little under your cheekbones, and maybe a tiny bit on the sides of your nose. The idea is to make you look sun-kissed, not like you've been in a mud fight! Keep it light. Blush: A pop of blush can make you look instantly healthier and more awake. Smile and apply a little on the apples of your cheeks, blending it upwards towards your temples. A soft pink or peachy shade works wonders. Eyeliner (Don't Overdo It!): If you're using eyeliner, a thin line close to your upper lash line is usually enough. You can use a brown or grey pencil for a softer look, rather than harsh black. No need for dramatic wings just yet – keep it subtle to define your eyes naturally. Mascara: This is one of my favorites for making eyes pop! One or two coats of mascara on your upper lashes can make them look longer and fuller without being too heavy. Focus on lifting them up for an open-eyed look. Highlighter: For a subtle glow, a tiny bit of highlighter on the inner corners of your eyes, down the bridge of your nose, and on your cheekbones can catch the light beautifully. Again, a little goes a long way here! Eyebrow Gel: If your eyebrows are a little unruly, a clear eyebrow gel can help tame them and keep them in place without adding color. It just makes them look neat and polished. Lip Liner + Lip Gloss (Don't Overline!): Finish off your look with defined, glossy lips. You can use a lip liner that matches your natural lip color to slightly define your shape, but please don't overline them! Then, add a swipe of clear or tinted lip gloss for a fresh, hydrated look. This keeps it natural and pretty. Setting Spray: A light mist of setting spray can help your makeup last longer, especially if you're going to be out and about all day. It also helps everything blend together seamlessly. Remember, practice makes perfect! Don't be afraid to experiment, but always remember to remove your makeup thoroughly before bed to keep your skin happy and healthy. Makeup is a tool for self-expression and fun, so enjoy your journey!
