Wow, looking back at my childhood as a 1994 baby always brings a huge smile to my face! It feels like we had this unique blend of the old-school charm and the very beginning of the digital age. And if you missed an episode? Tough luck, you had to wait for the rerun or hope your friend recorded it on their VCR! Speaking of VCRs, remember the thrill of renting movies from Blockbuster or Hollywood Video on a Friday night? Browsing the aisles, picking out a candy, and then having to rewind the tape before returning it – those were rituals! Our tech experiences were a journey. We grew up with landlines, often with a super long cord that allowed you to hide in another room for privacy. The sound of dial-up internet connecting is practically a soundtrack to our youth – that screeching, whirring symphony! And don't even get me started on the joy of a new Game Boy Color or a Tamagotchi that constantly needed your attention. Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1 sleepovers were legendary, battling it out in Mario Kart or Spyro the Dragon. The school cafeteria lunches, the field trips, and the anticipation of summer break – it all felt so simple and pure. Snacks like Capri Sun, Lunchables, Gushers, and Dunkaroos were staples in our lunchboxes and after-school treats. As we moved into the late 90s and early 2000s, there was a shift, but the foundational experiences remained.
