Things I wish someone told me about breastfeeding🤱🏻
Some breastfeeding tips from a first time mom. This will be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do, but so rewarding. We’ve been breastfeeding almost 1 year now, so I wanted to share some things I learned along the way.
I had one other person close to me who had breastfed before but she had her baby two months before I had mine, so she had still been learning just as I had. The hospital wasn’t much help when I had my baby, so I had to figure it out on my own. Lots of research, lots of Facebook groups, lots of tears. There were days where all I did was cry about how hard it was and about my low supply.
You are enough for your baby. You make just what your baby needs. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You got this mama.🤎🤞🏼#newbabytips #breastfeedingmoms #firsttimemom #newmom #pumpingmom
Navigating breastfeeding can feel overwhelming, especially for first-time mothers. One important aspect to remember is that your baby's feeding schedule may not align with the traditional 2-3 hour recommendations. Trust your baby’s cues; they know what their body needs. Cluster feeding is a common behavior where your baby feeds more frequently, signaling your body to increase milk production. It's crucial to invest in nursing pads, bras, and tanks, which provide comfort and convenience during your breastfeeding journey. If you experience pain or issues with latching, don’t hesitate to seek help. Many mothers have found relief by consulting specialists or pediatric dentists, especially if a tongue tie is suspected. Remember, exclusive pumping is just as valid as breastfeeding directly; it’s about nourishing your baby in a way that works best for you both. Your breastfeeding experience may have highs and lows, but every moment is worth it. Embrace the journey, trust your instincts, and connect with support groups to share your experiences and gain encouragement.
