Day 1 of sharing my photography🥰✨

2025/2/3 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen the incredible motorcycle engagement session that's living rent-free in my head – but how do you get photos that are *just as uniquely you*? When it comes to engagement photography, it's all about telling your love story, not just posing. For me, as someone passionate about photography (and really, this is like continuing on 'Day 1 of sharing my photography' in a deeper dive!), I've learned that truly special photos come from embracing what makes a couple unique. If you're a couple dreaming of an engagement shoot that goes beyond the traditional, here are some thoughts on how to make it happen, inspired by sessions like the motorcycle one: 1. Embrace Your Passions: What do you two love to do together? Is it riding motorcycles, hiking, cooking, reading, or playing music? Incorporating your hobbies instantly makes the session authentic. Don't be afraid to suggest unique props or locations that reflect your shared interests. For example, if you love vintage cars, let's find one! If you're huge coffee lovers, a cozy cafe shoot could be perfect. 2. Location, Location, Location: Think beyond the obvious. While a beautiful park is lovely, consider places that hold sentimental value or offer a unique backdrop. For the motorcycle shoot, an open road or a scenic overlook adds so much character. Arkansas, with its diverse landscapes, offers endless possibilities from rugged mountains to charming small towns – perfect for a wedding photographer looking for unique spots. 3. Outfit Choices Matter: Wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident, but also fits the vibe of your chosen theme. For an edgy motorcycle shoot, leather jackets and boots work beautifully. For a rustic outdoor adventure, think layered, comfortable clothing. Discuss your ideas with your photographer – they can offer great advice on what photographs well. 4. Trust Your Photographer (and communicate!): A great photographer will not only capture beautiful images but also help you feel at ease. Share your vision, your insecurities, and your excitement. The more open you are, the better they can capture your true selves. They can also advise on the best time of day for lighting and how to make dynamic poses with props like a motorcycle. 5. Let Loose and Have Fun: The best photos often come from genuine moments of laughter, intimacy, and candid interaction. Don't worry about being perfect. Just enjoy being together, and let your love shine through. A little bit of playful chaos, especially with a moving prop like a motorcycle, can lead to the most memorable shots. Creating an engagement session that truly stands out requires a little extra thought and collaboration, but the results are always worth it. These photos aren't just pictures; they're a chapter of your story, beautifully told. So, whether you're a photographer looking for inspiration or a couple planning your dream shoot, remember to infuse it with *you*.
