Saddle Hunting Gear
Let’s talk gear! As the deer seasons start to end and the shows start up companies start to release new gear. I’d like to talk about what I’m going to saddle hunt with in the 2025 season.
I will most likely stay using what I currently have. Here is why. I have a system. I have practiced over and over with what i use. I know how to pack it in and out without seeing. This helps early mornings when I’m getting in the tree in the dark and when I’m breaking down the gear in the evenings when it’s dark.
So let’s talk about it. I’ll start with the bag. I’ll keep using the cruzr
escape pack due to the fact it has a spot for sticks , my platform and plenty of space still for my camera gear and other essentials.
Then we have my climbing sticks. Currently use the latitude carbon sticks. They are light weight, have no metal or moving parts and pack very tightly.
Platform wise, I use the mini seeker. The reason I will continue this is because it’s sturdy, has plenty of feet space but still on the smaller end, bites into the tree well and packs easy. This platform is light weight for its size.
Now, let’s talk saddles. I’ve been using the XC. I will stay with this saddle due to the fact it is breathable, it expands and the most comfortable saddle I have sat in. I don’t get hip pinch or have any pain when sitting in it making it easy to do all day sits.
