But what if those actions, however noble, aren't rooted in genuine obedience to His specific will for my life, or worse, if they're driven by a desire for recognition? I've been there, thinking I was doing God's work, only to realize I was following my own agenda. The warning about people performing miracles and casting out demons in His name, yet being told, 'I never knew you,' is chilling. It highlights a profound truth: a relationship with Jesus isn't just about performing religious acts; it's about intimacy and knowing His heart. For me, this means constantly asking myself: Am I truly seeking His face, listening for His guidance, and striving to obey, even in the small, unseen areas of my life? It's a continuous journey of repentance and realignment. The image I saw recently reminded me of this critical need for spiritual vigilance, warning that 'The last days will be full of DECEPTION. Not everything that sounds spiritual is from the Spirit. SEEK TRUTH. PRAY FOR DISCERNMENT. BE WATCHFUL.' This perfectly complements Matthew 7:21-23. It's so easy to be deceived, even by ourselves, into thinking we're on the right path when we're not. As 2 Timothy 3:13 (KJV) also cautions, 'But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.' This underscores the urgency to PRAY FOR DISCERNMENT daily and BE WATCHFUL about what influences our faith and actions. We must SEEK TRUTH relentlessly, not just what's comfortable or popular. So, what does 'doing the will of my Father' look like practically? For me, it has boiled down to developing a deeper relationship through consistent prayer and scripture study, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform my character, and then letting those inner changes flow into outward acts of love, humility, and service. It's about letting go of self-reliance and truly trusting His leading, even when it's uncomfortable. It’s about being authentic and vulnerable, not putting on a show. It's a daily choice to surrender my will for His, striving for genuine faith that manifests in true obedience. Only then can I feel confident that I'm not just 'doing ministry,' but truly 'being ministry' in a way that blesses Him.
