3:22-36 John was fully satisfied with the place and work assigned him; but Jesus came on a more important work. He also knew that Jesus would increase in honour and influence, for of his government and peace there would be no end, while he himself would be less followed. John knew that Jesus came from heaven as the Son of God, while he was a sinful, mortal man, who could only speak about the more plain subjects of religion. The words of Jesus were the words of God; he had the Spirit, not by measure, as the prophets, but in all fulness. Everlasting life could only be had by faith in Him, and might be thus obtained; whereas all those, who believe not in the Son of God, cannot partake of salvation, but the wrath of God for ever rests upon them.
True story time:
I was in the flea market talking to a man about my age about Jesus and he told me that I’m trying to get him to think like me. I told him I’m not trying to do that I’m just talking to you about Christ i was done in the flea market i had to use the restroom. I was hungry i started packing the things up got finished loading the car i was driving out of the flea market and i thought about what he said that I’m trying to get him to think like me the Holy Spirit gave me a download I was trying to get him to think like Jesus that blow my mind because i did not see it that way it’s always something to learn from the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit is our teacher the Holy Spirit teach through His children we must look for the Holy Spirit in mankind to teach us studying. The word of God is how we learn the voice of truth.
1 John 2:27
But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

2:24-29 The truth of Christ, abiding in us, is a means to sever from sin, and unites us to the Son of God, Joh 15:3,4. What value should we put upon gospel truth! Thereby the promise of eternal life is made sure. The promise God makes, is suitable to his own greatness, power, and goodness; it is eternal life. The Spirit of truth will not lie; and he teaches all things in the present dispensation, all things necessary to our knowledge of God in Christ, and their glory in the gospel. The apostle repeats the kind words, little children; which denotes his affection. He would persuade by love. Gospel privileges oblige to gospel duties; and those anointed by the Lord Jesus abide with him. The new spiritual nature is from the Lord Christ. He that is constant to the practice of religion in trying times, shows that he is born from above, from the Lord Christ. Then, let us beware of holding the truth in unrighteousness, remembering that those only are born of God, who bear his holy image, and walk in his most righteous ways.

It’s not about imposing our own thoughts or beliefs on people, but about allowing the Spirit to inspire us to think and act like Jesus.
