A need to know.

We can quote scripture and haven’t been circumcised sad but true.

Don't let anyone deceive you with misinformation and i won't either beloved false humility is witchcraft even if they claim to be guided by a higher power. Some people allow their faith to inspire them to quote scripture without the Bible in their hand but that doesn't necessarily mean they're open to spiritual growth and transformation the spiritual circumcision of our spiritual hearts our mind is a lifetime event according to COLOSSIANS 2:11.

Spiritual vs. Physical Circumcision: In the Old Testament, physical circumcision was the literal, fleshly sign of the covenant between God and Abraham's descendants. Jewish teachers (Judaizers) claimed Gentiles had to undergo physical circumcision to be saved. Paul argues this is no longer necessary.

The "Circumcision of Christ": Paul redefines circumcision as a spiritual reality rather than a physical one. He calls it a "circumcision made without hands," meaning it is an internal transformation accomplished by God's grace at salvation, not by human effort or ritual.

"Putting off the body of the flesh": This phrase does not mean the human body is inherently evil. Instead, it refers to the "flesh" as the old, sinful nature. Spiritual circumcision symbolizes the decisive cutting away and breaking of the power of sin over the believer's life.

Connection to Baptism: Paul connects this inner spiritual "cutting away" to Christian baptism. While physical circumcision was the initiation rite into the Old Covenant, baptism becomes the new sign of a believer's union with Christ in His death and resurrection.

Initially, I viewed circumcision solely as a physical rite tied to ancient traditions, but studying Colossians 2:11 helped me realize it represents a profound internal change — a cutting away of our sinful nature, the 'flesh,' as Paul explains. This spiritual transformation is not about outward rituals or appearances. It’s about allowing God’s grace to reshape our hearts and minds throughout our lifetime. I’ve seen firsthand how embracing this perspective encourages genuine growth rather than superficial faith practices. Also, connecting spiritual circumcision to baptism opened my eyes to its ongoing significance. Baptism symbolizes dying to our old selves and rising anew with Christ, reinforcing our union with Him in a way that transcends physical acts. For me, this connection inspires a daily commitment to reflect Christ’s life internally. Understanding that false humility or quoting scripture without heartfelt transformation can mislead reminds us to seek authentic spiritual renewal. The journey is continuous, requiring openness to God’s work in us beyond legalistic observance. This deeper grasp of spiritual circumcision motivates me to pursue a faith that constantly evolves, cutting away sin’s influence and nurturing a sincere relationship with God. It’s a lifelong process that transforms not only how we practice faith but who we become.
