Biblical repentance is a command. It’s not a choice biblical ignorance is satan’s spiritual warfare tactic against people through people.
The meaning of repent.
According to Strong's Concordance, the Greek word for “Repent” is, 'Metanoeō' (G3340) which means, “To change one's mind, to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins.” Choose to turn away from sin. Allow God to wash your heart from the stains of the past, beloved’s our spiritual heart’s is our mind.

In biblical Hebrew, the word for heart is lev (לֵב) or levav (לֵבָב). Unlike modern usage, which limits the heart primarily to emotions, the ancient Hebrews viewed the heart as the entire core of a person’s inner life. It is used metaphorically as the command center of human existence.

Repentance is often misunderstood in modern times as simply feeling sorry for one's mistakes. However, the biblical concept goes far deeper, encompassing a profound change of mind and heart. The Greek word 'Metanoeō' emphasizes not just regret but an active turning away from sin and a heartfelt amendment of life. From my own spiritual journey, repentance has been a transformative process. I recall times when I struggled to truly repent, caught between old habits and newfound faith. The encouragement found in scriptures like Isaiah 55:8-9 and Acts 17:30-31 reminds me that God's ways and thoughts are far beyond ours, inviting us to trust His guidance even when we cannot fully understand it. Moreover, understanding the biblical Hebrew perspective of the 'heart' as the core of a person's inner life helped me appreciate that repentance involves a complete renewal—mind, heart, and spirit. This holistic change is what makes repentance not a mere emotional reaction but a total life overhaul. I also found that spiritual warfare plays a role in how people resist repentance. Awareness of this helps to stay vigilant and faithful, knowing that satan’s tactics include ignorance and deception. Yet, the good news portrayed in ‘REPENT AND BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL’ is an invitation to embrace grace and begin anew. In my experience, committing daily to repentance while relying on God's mercy has brought lasting peace and growth. It’s a journey, often requiring humility and perseverance, but the assurance that Jesus Christ’s resurrection confirms God's judgment and mercy empowers me to walk this path wholeheartedly.
