Canon Powershot
#Lemon8Scrapbook Love the Monterey Bay Aquarium, especially their jellyfish section.
I really wanted to test out my Canon Powershot SX110 in lowlight conditions and this was the perfect opportunity!
All of these photos were taken on manual mode. This gave me flexibility on my exposure settings and shutter speed.
When I tested this out at a festival, I was too far away from the stage to take photos. This time around, I was close enough and had the perfect setting to get the shot!
Location: Monterey
The Canon Powershot series is known for its versatility, especially in low-light photography. To get the best out of your Powershot camera, experiment with manual settings to control exposure and shutter speed, as I did during my visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Consider using a tripod or stabilizing your camera to avoid blurriness with longer exposure times. Proper lighting is also crucial; try to shoot during golden hour for stunning effects, or use available aquarium lighting. Review the features of your specific model, as some Powershot cameras come with advanced modes that can enrich your photography experience. Also, make sure to engage with your surroundings. Taking the time to observe the jellyfish and their movements can lead to captivating shots. Feel free to experiment with framing, keeping in mind the unique shapes and colors of the jellyfish on display. By understanding the environment, you can significantly improve the quality of your aquarium photography.
