Relaunching my YouTube channel
One of my goals for 2025 was relaunching my YouTube channel and growing a community there.
It’s actually a crazy story…when I was applying to grad schools for journalism back in 2016, I had an admissions interview with one of the schools I applied to in Boston. At the time I was posting beauty content on YT and really building a community on my channel. The admissions lady told me that if I wanted to be taken seriously as a journalist I shouldn’t post my beauty content. So I deleted everything and started over with all news content. I wish I didn’t listen and kept doing me because here I am 10 years later hopping back on to do the same thing I was doing before.
Moral of the story: Do YOU & don’t let ANYONE tell you that you can’t do something. SHE might not have taken me seriously but these beauty companies are SERIOUSLY paying $$$$$ to post on social media. So there’s that 🤷🏽♀️
