Setting up a little downstairs baby station 🤍
Baby’s nursery is upstairs, but we spend most of our day downstairs so I wanted a spot for naps, diaper changes, and keeping essentials nearby.
Not only are pack & plays great for traveling, but I honestly love them as a permanent little baby station too. It makes everything so convenient during the day.
Still deciding if I should remove the bench to make more room, but I’ll keep adding things as I go. Nesting mode is definitely kicking in 😂
Do you have a downstairs baby station or just the nursery? 🤍

Setting up a dedicated baby station downstairs can truly simplify daily routines, especially if your nursery is located upstairs. From my experience, using a pack & play as a permanent baby station is a game-changer. Not just for travel, pack & plays offer the flexibility to serve as a compact and safe space for naps and diaper changes throughout the day. When creating your own baby station, consider organizing all your essentials like diapers, wipes, and changing mats within arm’s reach to maximize convenience. If space is limited, removing bulky furniture such as benches may free up room and allow for better mobility, although you might want to balance comfort and functionality. Also, think about lighting and ventilation to keep the area comfortable for your baby. Adding soft lighting and keeping blankets or swaddles handy helps create a cozy nap environment. Personally, I found that fully embracing the nesting mode—gradually adding items as needed—prevents clutter while ensuring nothing essential is missing. This setup makes daytime caregiving smoother without the need to constantly go upstairs, helping you stay more present and relaxed. If you don’t already have a downstairs station, I highly recommend trying one, especially if your routine keeps you on the lower floors. It’s a simple yet effective way to enhance your baby care experience.
