Reese’s Truffles

🥜 Reese’s Truffles — Michentah Style 🍫

Soft, rich, peanut-buttery perfection wrapped in chocolate bliss. These truffles are what happens when Reese’s Cups meet Oreo cookies and decide to run away together. Sweet rebellion at its finest. 😏

---

🍪 Ingredients

32 Oreo cookies, finely crushed

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 tsp vanilla extract

18 mini Reese’s Cups

2 cups dark chocolate melting wafers

1 tbsp + 1 tsp Crisco (or coconut oil if that’s what you have)

½ cup Reese’s Peanut Butter baking chips

½ cup chopped Reese’s Pieces

---

🍫 Directions

1. Make the Magic Dough

In a big bowl, combine crushed Oreos, softened cream cheese, and vanilla until you’ve got a thick, dough-like mixture. (If you find yourself “taste-testing” a few spoonfuls, I’m not judging.)

2. Roll It Out

Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls. Line them up on a parchment-covered baking sheet like a little army of deliciousness.

3. Surprise Center!

Press a mini Reese’s Cup gently into the middle of each ball. Mold the dough back around it so the candy’s tucked in nice and cozy.

4. Freeze ‘Em

Pop the tray in the freezer for at least 30 minutes so they firm up and behave.

5. Melt That Chocolate

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your chocolate wafers and Crisco in 30-second bursts, stirring between each until smooth and glossy.

6. Dip & Coat

Dip each frozen truffle into the melted chocolate, covering it completely. Use a fork to lift and tap off the extra.

7. Sprinkle Party 🎉

Before the coating sets, sprinkle the tops with peanut butter chips and chopped Reese’s Pieces. It’s like confetti — but edible and way more exciting.

8. Chill & Devour

Let them set at room temp or refrigerate until firm. Try to eat just one. (You won’t.)

💡 Tips

💛 Use softened cream cheese for silky-smooth dough.

💛 Chill the balls well before dipping to avoid messy meltdown moments.

💛 Keep a few in the freezer for “emergencies” — you know the kind.

... Read moreMaking Reese’s Truffles at home is a wonderful way to impress your friends and satisfy your chocolate and peanut butter cravings simultaneously. What I love most about this recipe is how simple ingredients like crushed Oreo cookies and cream cheese transform into a luscious dough that’s both creamy and rich. Adding mini Reese’s Cups into the center of each truffle is a delightful surprise that adds an extra burst of peanut butter and chocolate in every bite. One tip I personally found useful is to make sure your cream cheese is very well softened before mixing it in. This makes the dough silky smooth and easier to work with. Also, chilling the truffle balls in the freezer before dipping them in melted chocolate helps them hold their shape and prevents the coating from melting off or becoming messy. If you don’t have Crisco, coconut oil is a great substitute to keep the chocolate syrupy and glossy. Sprinkling Reese’s Peanut Butter baking chips and chopped Reese’s Pieces on top before the chocolate sets adds a nice texture contrast and makes the truffles look festive – perfect for sharing at parties or holiday gatherings. I’ve also kept some truffles in the freezer for a quick sweet fix whenever chocolate cravings hit! This recipe is not only delicious but versatile. You can experiment by using milk chocolate or white chocolate wafers if you prefer a different flavor profile. Additionally, adding a pinch of sea salt on top before the chocolate hardens can enhance the peanut butter and chocolate flavors even more. Overall, these Reese’s Truffles are a fun, indulgent treat that combines familiar favorite flavors in an unexpected way. Whether you’re a peanut butter lover or a chocoholic, this recipe has something for everyone. Give it a try and enjoy the sweet magic of homemade Reese’s truffles!
