Fav Memory with my dogs ♥︎
October 10, 2019 — Colorado Springs
Little did we know this was 14 days before you left us Koa 🥲 I was 23 weeks pregnant with my angel daughter. We just moved to Fort Carson and had a beautiful snow day in the Springs.
We took the dogs to the dog park on base and had a grand time playing in the snow! Practically had the whole park to ourselves. This included my brother's dog Chevy, who I raised and trained since we adopted him from the San Diego Humane Society 🖤 Koa was one of our eldest dogs we had owned until we had to put him down due to an underlying tumor ...
Ellie & Raiku are still with us today and living their best lives in Hawai’i!
I’ll never forget my short time with Koa in Colorado. He never got to truly experience our life there, but I hope he’s watching over my daughter in heaven. Until we meet again my loves 🐾 🌈

Creating lasting memories with our pets is one of the most precious experiences in life. Dogs not only provide companionship but also enrich our lives with joy, loyalty, and love. In this article, I reminisce about a snowy day in Colorado Springs when I enjoyed the outdoors with my beloved dogs. Koa, one of our elder dogs, became incredibly important to me and my family during this time. Despite facing health issues, Koa's spirit reminded me to cherish each moment and always look for happiness, even in difficult circumstances. The loss of a pet can be an emotional ordeal, but reflecting on happy moments can be healing. Ellie and Raiku continue to fill our lives with joy as they thrive in Hawaii, reminding me of the importance of focusing on the good times shared and celebrated with our furry companions. Each playful throw of a snowball or scenic walk in the park instills a sense of gratitude and love that stays with us forever. For those undergoing a similar experience, remember that you’re not alone. Join support groups or online communities dedicated to pet lovers. Share stories, advice, and moments of joy derived from our loyal companions. Embracing both the happiness and the heartache is part of the journey of loving pets. As life continues to unfold, may we honor our beloved pets by creating new memories and sharing their love with others. Through shared experiences and stories, we can ensure that their spirits live on in our hearts.
