Natural Glow: Healed Lip Blush Perfection
Fresh, natural lip blush after three months of healing—straight out of the camera!
It’s that perfect “born-with-it” rosy glow, so pink and vibrant! Who wouldn’t love this color?
Don’t worry if it looks a bit too red right after the session. Once it heals, the color will settle into a beautiful, natural tone. If you prefer a deeper red, you can always add more during the touch-up!
My healed lip blush has truly transformed my daily routine, and I get so many questions about the process! Beyond just the beautiful 'born-with-it' rosy glow I shared, there's so much more to know about achieving and maintaining those perfect 'Baby Jelly Lips.' One question I often hear, especially from friends who have naturally darker or uneven lip tones, is about lip neutralization. While my journey focused directly on adding a lovely pink hue, lip neutralization is an amazing pre-treatment for many. Think of it as color correction for your lips. If your lips have cool, dark, or purple undertones, a skilled artist can use specific pigments to neutralize those shades before applying your desired lip blush color. This is crucial because if you just put a pink over a dark lip, it might heal to a less vibrant or even an undesired brownish tone. It’s a fantastic way to create a clean canvas, ensuring your chosen lip blush color truly pops and gives you that 'very healthy pink color' we all love. If you're considering lip blush but have concerns about your natural lip color, definitely ask your artist about neutralization first – it could be the key to your perfect outcome! The healing journey of lip blush is also a bit of a process, not just a 'snap your fingers and it's done' kind of thing. Right after the session, your lips will look much darker and more intense than the final result. Don't panic! This is totally normal. Over the first few days, they might feel a little dry or chapped, and some light peeling is common. It's so important to follow your artist's aftercare instructions religiously – keeping them moisturized with a recommended balm and avoiding certain foods or activities can make all the difference. After about a week, the initial intensity fades, and the color often looks much lighter, almost like it's disappeared. This is called the 'ghosting phase,' and again, it's completely normal and part of the healing. Your lips are regenerating, and the pigment is settling. Over the next few weeks, the color will gradually bloom back, becoming more vibrant and even. That three-month mark, like my 'After' photos show, is truly when you see the true, stable color. It's amazing to witness the transformation from the 'Immediate effect' to the final, natural shade. To keep that 'natural born-with-it feel,' sun protection is your best friend. Just like skin, UV rays can fade lip color, so a lip balm with SPF is a must. Staying hydrated and avoiding harsh lip products will also help prolong the vibrancy. And remember, a touch-up session, usually recommended 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment, is often essential to perfect the color and shape, ensuring those 'Baby Jelly Lips' stay flawless. It’s all about investing in yourself and understanding the process to get those truly beautiful, long-lasting results!
