Mobile Alabama Exotic Animal Expo
Flashback to this trip to the animal Expo in Mobile Alabama where Tom fell in love with wallabies. #reptiles #snake #ballpython #boa #wallaby
Oh, what an adventure we had heading down to Mobile, Alabama, for their Exotic Pet Expo! Honestly, we expected it to be a fairly small show, perhaps just a handful of tables. But walking in, we were so surprised to see there were quite a few vendors here – it was bustling! It truly felt like stepping into another world, filled with incredible creatures from all corners. My friend Tom and I, along with Little Man, started our exploration. The first thing that struck us was the sheer variety. Of course, being a 'reptile expo' at heart, there were a number of ball pythons at the show. Each one seemed to have its own unique pattern and personality, from vibrant pastels to deep, earthy tones. It was fascinating to see how many different morphs there are! We spent ages just admiring them, and I even overheard whispers about some future projects people were planning with these beautiful snakes. Beyond the pythons, we encountered numerous other slithery friends – from graceful boas, one of which Little Man absolutely adored playing with, to smaller, more exotic snake species I'd never seen up close before. But the expo wasn't just about snakes. We stumbled upon a section with tortoises that were absolutely adorable. Their slow, deliberate movements and ancient faces just melted our hearts. Little Man was captivated, and it was clear this was becoming his favorite part of the entire expo. And then, the ultimate surprise: wallabies! Who would have thought we'd find these incredible marsupials at an expo in Alabama? Tom, in particular, fell completely in love with them. Their gentle nature and curious eyes made them an instant hit. It really showcased how diverse and unique animals can be, beyond just the typical pet store fare. For anyone considering going to an exotic pet expo, I'd definitely recommend it. It's an amazing opportunity to see unique animals up close, learn from experienced breeders and enthusiasts, and even connect with local rescue organizations. My top tip: arrive early to beat the crowds, and don't be afraid to ask vendors questions – they're usually passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. Also, keep an eye out for those unexpected finds, like our wallaby encounter! You never know what incredible creatures you might discover. It was such a memorable trip, and I'm already looking forward to our next exotic animal adventure!
