🪞 Build My Vanity • Phase 01 🌸🦩
Since I’ve been more disciplined with my time, hubby woke me up at 5am with a vanity... so while he started putting it together, I went to throw some laundry in and we got to work.
But when I tell you this thing was really a project and a half
— I’m not even kidding!!
Panels got mixed up, the screw labels fell off, and at one point we almost broke the entire thing flipping it upright.
And the craziest part?
My husband actually found this vanity for free - someone was giving it away, so we’re turning a bathroom vanity into a DIY makeup setup for the Pink Room.
Phase one is officially done and the room is slowly starting to come together.
Phase two coming soon, flamingos.

Embarking on a DIY project like building a vanity can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding, especially when starting with a piece found for free. I remember taking on a similar project, turning an old, slightly worn bathroom cabinet into a beautiful makeup vanity that added personality and function to my space. One valuable lesson I learned was the importance of organizing all the parts and hardware before starting assembly—labeling screws and small pieces beforehand saved me from confusion and helped the process go smoother. Another tip is to involve a partner or friend; having an extra set of hands really helps when flipping or lifting heavy panels to avoid any accidental damage. Plus, sharing the experience makes the project more enjoyable. I loved how repurposing an inexpensive or free item not only saved money but also allowed me to customize the vanity exactly to my needs—adding LED mirror lights, small drawer organizers, and personal decor touches. If you’re working on your glow-up or room makeover, consider hunting for gently used furniture pieces online or in local giveaways. With patience and creativity, these DIY projects become fun journeys to create unique spaces that reflect your style. Looking forward to how the next phase with flamingo-themed accents will personalize the Pink Room even more—it’s those details that truly transform a room into your sanctuary.
