Throwback: 1 Month loc’d
I took this clip literally 10 minutes after i finished my starter locs. lol I fell in love😍😍😍😍😍
🌻
I am now approaching 3 month of being loc’d abd my hair has grown ssssssoooooooooooooo much!!!
🌻
Here’s some tips on how I grow my hair:
•I wash twice a month ( in the middle of the month and the day of my retwist)
•I oil my scalp only when my hair is completely dry.
•I spritz my hair with my own rosemary water one to two times a day
•I use Blue Magic as my moisturizer 🦋😍
That’s it!!!
🌻
I let my hair do its own thing! I don’t have a specific pattern in my hair-it’s lowkey a free form but it’s only bc I can’t see the back of my head 😂
It takes time for sureee but as i grow and continue to have motivation about my hair, one of these days soon I’ll be excited to see my locs fully mature!😍
🌻
Do you have locs? If not, why haven’t you started them!!!
Locs are so pretty to me! It definitely takes stress off of trying to figure out your next style. I also love seeing natural hair! It’s unique be everyone has a different hair type.
What is your go-to loc style? Mine is down the middle or to the side. 🌻

My loc journey has been a beautiful evolving story, especially watching the transformation from my initial 1-month mark to nearly 3 months now! When I first got my starter locs, they felt like tiny, neat beginnings, carefully twisted. But fast forward to almost 3 months, and I'm seeing amazing changes – budding, frizz, and the unmistakable signs of them truly locking up. It’s such an exciting phase to witness. Many people wonder how I'm seeing such good progress, especially when they ask about "how to grow locs faster." Beyond just letting my hair do its thing, consistency in a simple routine has been my secret. Let me elaborate on the tips that have worked wonders for me. For washing, I stick to twice a month. My hair appreciates this balance – clean enough without being over-manipulated. I use a gentle, residue-free shampoo, focusing on my scalp with my fingertips. I let the suds run down the locs to clean them, avoiding harsh scrubbing that could unravel delicate starter locs. A wash right before a retwist makes everything feel fresh and ready. Oiling my scalp is a non-negotiable step, but only when my hair is completely dry. I use a lightweight blend, often jojoba or a mix with a bit of castor oil, applying just a few drops directly to my scalp sections. A gentle massage helps distribute it and stimulates blood flow, which I believe really contributes to growth. This routine keeps my scalp nourished and prevents any dryness or itchiness. My daily rosemary water spritz is another secret weapon. I prepare it by steeping fresh rosemary in hot water, letting it cool, and then storing it in a spray bottle. A light misting once or twice a day keeps my locs hydrated and refreshed. Rosemary is known for boosting scalp circulation and promoting healthy hair growth, so it’s a natural choice for anyone on a loc journey. And for moisturizing, Blue Magic has been my trusted product. I apply a small amount to the lengths of my locs, not just the scalp. It helps keep them soft, pliable, and prevents breakage – crucial for maintaining length. Of course, what works for one person's hair texture might differ for another, but for my hair, it's been fantastic. When it comes to "how to grow locs faster," I truly believe patience is paramount. Beyond my routine, I focus on overall health: staying hydrated, a balanced diet, and protecting my locs at night with a satin bonnet. Minimizing pulling or tight styles is also key in these early stages, as fragile starter locs can easily be damaged. While my journey isn't specifically a "microloc journey," the foundational care principles often overlap. Whether you have traditional locs, microlocs, or sisterlocks, proper cleansing, conditioning, and scalp care are universal. Specific techniques for installation or maintenance might vary, so always research what's best for your particular loc type. What I love most about locs is the incredible sense of freedom and embrace of natural beauty. It's liberating not to worry about intricate styling daily. My go-to styles are simple: parting them down the middle or sweeping them to the side, letting their natural form shine. If you're on the fence about starting your locs, I wholeheartedly encourage you. It's more than just a hairstyle; it's a unique and rewarding journey of self-discovery and confidence.
