... Read moreHey Pokéfans! You know how much I love creating those custom resin art pieces for my favorite Pokémon cards. While I've been busy making individual resin frames and coasters for Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and even a gorgeous Jolteon that glows in the dark, I've been dreaming even bigger – of a full-blown Pokémon card epoxy table! Imagine having your most cherished cards, like a rare Charmander or a sparkling Gastly, perfectly preserved and displayed under a crystal-clear, durable epoxy surface, becoming the centerpiece of your gaming room or living space. Creating a Pokémon card resin table isn't just about protecting your collection; it's about transforming it into an incredible piece of functional art. I’ve been researching so many design ideas! One idea is to lay out a mosaic of cards across the entire tabletop, perhaps grouping them by type or generation. Think of a section dedicated to Kanto starters with Squirtle and Bulbasaur, or a whimsical fairy-type corner featuring Clefairy. You could even create stunning dioramas within different sections of the table, much like the intricate ones I've made for Litten and Jigglypuff, complete with tiny crystals and moss. Or, how about a beach-themed section for water Pokémon like Staryu and Psyduck, using real sand and mini seashells embedded in the resin, reminiscent of my smaller beach-themed resin frames? For those who love a bit of sparkle, incorporating glittery resin frames or pigments could add an extra dimension, catching the light beautifully. I've seen some amazing examples with metallic flakes that really make the cards pop. And for cards like Phantump or Alolan Diglett, you could create themed sections with small pebbles or even miniature grass landscapes. The key is to think about the story you want your table to tell. Will it be a vibrant, colorful display of diverse cards, or a more minimalist approach highlighting a few key pieces? While the process of making a full epoxy table is more involved than my smaller heart-shaped coasters or individual frames, the principles are similar: meticulous planning, careful layering of epoxy resin, and ensuring a bubble-free finish. You'd need to consider the type of wood base, the volume of resin, proper ventilation, and of course, protecting your cards from any potential resin damage during the pour. It's a significant project, but the idea of having a one-of-a-kind Pokémon card epoxy table that doubles as a display and a functional piece of furniture is incredibly exciting. It's definitely on my list of future creative endeavors, and I can't wait to share my progress when I finally dive into it!
