I HAVE A QUESTION 🙋🏽♀️
My nephew turned 5 !!🎉
He has ASD (which is why he’s coverd his ears) and is a bit iffy on noise but we decided to just follow his lead
Like always my family loves a good theme so we threw a 🌌👽quiet space Disco for him ☺️. And nearing the night he was even dancing and listening to some music!! He’s the first NEPHEW and GRANDCHILD!! And I honestly can’t believe he’s so big now.
🤔But I do have a question, what can we expect from a 5 year old? Are they more energetic or do they calm down a little around this time #birthdaysforkids #proud #partyideas #5amclub #embracevulnerability
Turning five is a significant milestone for children, and parents often wonder about the behavioral characteristics of this age. Typically, five-year-olds exhibit bursts of energy, curiosity, and a growing independence, which is essential for their social and emotional development. They may display improved physical coordination and language skills, allowing for better communication with peers and adults. Given these developmental changes, planning parties with themes that engage their imagination, like a disco party, can be beneficial. It creates a fun, interactive environment while being considerate of children who may need a quieter space. Activities that allow for both energetic play and calm engagement are ideal. Assessing your child's comfort level with noise and crowd is crucial, especially for those with ASD, so it's always good to have quiet areas available. Additionally, inviting friends who understand and respect your child's unique needs can enhance the birthday experience. This year, the focus on a calm disco atmosphere was perfect, and it was heartwarming to see him enjoying the music while expressing himself through dance. Remember, as they grow, five-year-olds become more socially aware, so it’s a great time to encourage social skills and emotional expression within safe spaces.
