Ueno Toshogu Shrine is a historical shrine located in Ueno Park, Taito City, Tokyo, and is dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu. The Konjikiden (Konjikiden) is a building from the early Edo period and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. It is located in Ueno Park and is a popular spot that many people stop by during sightseeing or walking.

History / Characteristics
Foundation: 1627, built by Takatora Todo and Sojo Tenkai
It did not collapse even in the Great Kanto Earthquake, and in the Great Tokyo Air Raids of World War II, incendiary bombs were dropped right behind Konjikiden, but fortunately, the unexploded bomb escaped the collapse of Konjikiden.
In the Meiji period, the precincts were reduced compared to the Edo period, such as transferring the five-story pagoda in the precincts to Kanei-ji Temple (currently managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government) due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, but it is miraculous that the Konjikiden built in the early Edo period overcomes many difficulties and still exists, and it is said to be a gift of the good fortune of God.

What to see
・ Konjikiden (shrine): A gorgeous shrine with dazzling gold leaf. It conveys the architectural beauty of the Edo period to the present.
・ Karamon Gate: A beautiful gate with fine carvings and gold leaf. It is also popular as a photo spot.
· Peony Garden: Opened in spring and winter, about 500 peonies are in full bloom (charged).
· Goshuin: You can get the original Goshuin.
I've never been to Ueno Toshogu Shrine, and I wanted to go there once 🥰 When I drew a fortune, my daughter was a busho fortune with a seal of a family crest, Nakayoshi, I drew a normal fortune, and Daikokutensama was in it, 👍🥰 I was happy 💕
私が行ってみて「ここ押さえておくと満足度が上がる！」と思ったポイントを、初めての方向けに補足します。 まず、上野東照宮の“鳥居”は入口の存在感がすごくて、青空の日は特に写真が映えます。鳥居をくぐって参道を進むと、都会の公園の中なのに急に静かで凛とした空気になって、パワースポットと言われるのも納得でした。私は歩きながら自然と背筋が伸びる感じがしました。 次に一番の見どころはやっぱり“金色殿（社殿）”と“唐門”。金箔のきらめきが想像以上で、近くで見る彫刻も細かくてずっと見ていられます。門の上部の彫刻は特に見落としがちなので、少し立ち止まってじっくり見るのがおすすめ。重要文化財の案内も出ていて、「1651年造営」など年代を意識して眺めると、歴史の重みが一気にリアルになります。 「上野東照宮の歴史」を知ってから行くのも良くて、関東大震災や戦災をくぐり抜けて現存していると聞くと、ただ豪華なだけじゃなく“強運”という言葉に説得力が出ます。境内で五重塔も見えるので、あわせて散策すると満足感が高いです（東照宮の境内から眺められるので、写真好きにも◎）。 気になる“料金”ですが、参拝自体は基本的に無料で立ち寄りやすいです。一方で「ぼたん苑」は開苑時期（春・冬）に有料になるので、行く日が開苑期間かどうかを事前にチェックしておくと安心。私は次は牡丹の時期に合わせて再訪したいなと思いました。 最後に、体験として良かったのが“おみくじ”。武将みくじは家紋シール付きで、引いたあとも記念に残るのが楽しいです。私は大黒天さまの縁起物が入ったおみくじを引けて、持ち帰ってからもしばらく嬉しい気持ちが続きました。御朱印もいただけるので、御朱印集めをしている方は忘れずに。 アクセスは上野駅から徒歩圏内で、上野公園のおでかけに組み込みやすいのも魅力。短時間でも「鳥居→参道→金色殿→唐門→（時間があればぼたん苑）」の順で回ると、初めてでも見どころを取りこぼしにくいと思います。
