Be Kind To Your Mind
Even when I’m sober my thoughts can relapse.
I’ll replay conversations over and over. Things I said. Things I didn’t. What I could’ve done differently.
And before I know it, I’m stuck — sober, but spiraling.
I used to call that “reflection.” Like I was learning from my mistakes. But really… it’s rumination.
And rumination isn’t reflection — it’s punishment dressed up as productivity.
So I’m trying to notice it sooner now. To remind myself: I don’t have to keep re-living what I’ve already survived.
It’s okay to move forward — even if my mind wants to drag me back.
Rumination in recovery is real. Be kind to your mind.
