46 Years of "I Do"
Today marks 46 years completed since we said, “I DO.”
We were just 19—young, in love,
And full of hope and desire.
We didn’t have all the answers… but we had each other.
In process of becoming husband and wife
After the wedding,
We learned that love is more than feelings—
We learned that it’s faith, forgiveness, growing pains,
And grace.
We’ve weathered seasons––
Cold winters, renewing springs,
Hot summers, refreshing falls.
We learned each other’s hearts,
And we learned to listen to hear
From our individual hearts.
We leaned into God, who was, is, and always will be
The third strand in our cord.
We’ve laughed and cried TOGETHER.
We've labored TOGETHER.
We've travailed TOGETHER.
We held on through the storms.
And celebrated the sunshine.
THANK GOD we didn't let go.
We became lovers and best friends, and we still are.
We are forever grateful that LOVE LIVES HERE–
With us, between us, through us.
This is 46 years of choosing each other er'day!!
Of loving, appreciating, honoring, desiring, admiring,
And still enjoying the gift of simply doing life together.
God granted us a love that never fails.
In the good times, we LOVE. (This one is easy.)
