🍽️ My honest review on PIÑA 🍽️
🧋 Uji Matcha
💸 $6
⭐️ 6/10
A delicate blend of sweet & bitter
This Uji Matcha started strong 🍵 but lost its magic with a milk-heavy mix that dulled the earthy depth of the matcha.
☁️ Served at room temperature, it felt a little flat and uninspired.
📈 With a stronger matcha profile and proper heat, it could’ve been a winner!
🍳 Scrambled Eggs on Toast w/ Chili Oil
💸 $26
⭐️ 8/10
Creamy, soft scrambled eggs done right ✅ and that house-made chili oil? Game changer.
🧄 Aromatic fried garlic bits with a satisfying crunch 🌶️
The nutty, hearty toast was slightly firm but balanced the richness of the eggs perfectly.
💭 Loved the flavours, but $26 feels a tad steep for its portion.
🦐 Fried Prawn Burger
💸 $26
⭐️ 6/10
Housed in a soft, fluffy bun 🍔, this burger looked promising but reminded me too much of McD’s Fillet-O-Fish 🐟
The prawn patty was crisp, and the tartar-style sauce with cabbage & pickles brought a fast-food nostalgia just not quite the premium punch I was hoping for.
❓So… is it worth the visit?
Hmm… not really at least not this time 🫣
Despite the café’s cute vibes ✨, a few things fell short:
🚶♀️ Long wait
🥲 Confusing seating
🍴 A few letdowns on the menu

BUT… I’m not writing it off just yet! 💫
I’m still curious to try other dishes. Maybe a second visit will change my mind 👀💭
PIÑA by Room Ten offers a unique café experience in Sydney, combining modern Australian cuisine with Asian influences. Their menu features a range of all-day breakfast and lunch options, including popular items like the Scrambled Eggs on Toast with house-made chili oil and the Fried Prawn Burger. The Uji Matcha drink, inspired by traditional Japanese matcha, is crafted to provide a delicate balance of sweetness and bitterness, though serving it at the right temperature is key to preserving its flavor. Located in a vibrant area of Sydney, PIÑA has quickly gained attention for its cozy aesthetic and trendy menu. However, customers have noted some challenges such as long wait times and seating confusion that can impact the overall experience. Pricing is on the higher side, with specialty dishes like the Scrambled Eggs costing $26, which some may find steep given portion size. The café's beverage selection is diverse, offering creative cocktails such as the Sunrise (grenadine, tequila, and orange juice), Bloody Mary, Lychee Margarita, and unique cold brews like Almond Cold Brew and R10 Super Martini. These innovative drink options contribute to the café's growing reputation as a destination for both food and beverages. Additionally, PIÑA’s menu includes dishes like chicken, corn & mushroom congee, Wagyu minute steak with scrambled eggs, various burgers, and several brunch staples, appealing to a broad palate. The inclusion of multiple sides, such as crispy garlic bits atop the chili oil eggs and pickled accompaniments in the prawn burger, showcase attention to flavor layering. For those interested in a café that blends local and Asian flavors with stylish presentation, PIÑA might be worth a second visit despite some early disappointments. It is recommended to try a wider range of dishes and beverages to fully assess the quality and value. Customers looking for premium café experiences in Sydney should consider timing their visit to avoid long waits and enjoy the comfortable ambiance. Overall, PIÑA by Room Ten is a promising newcomer in Sydney’s café scene, blending inventive menus with a unique atmosphere. Its offerings like Uji Matcha and specialty breakfast items create niche appeal, especially for matcha lovers and brunch enthusiasts. With improvements in service flow and consistently cooked dishes, PIÑA could soon live up to its hype.
