Who danced better? Me or my mom? #millicentxandercs #fyp #thexandercsfamily #momanddaughtergoals #momanddaughterduo
Oh my gosh, you guys! So, I finally convinced my mom to do a dance-off with me, and it was epic in the funniest way possible. You know how they say, 'POV: Your mother gave birth to a fire dancer,' right? Well, that's exactly me! But then the rest of that sentence usually goes, 'but she cannot dance to save her life,' and honestly, that’s my sweet mom. Bless her heart, she has so much enthusiasm, but zero rhythm! It’s actually adorable. We were just messing around at home, listening to some throwbacks, and I jokingly challenged her. Of course, she's always up for a laugh, so she agreed. I was trying to do some of my usual moves, spinning and hitting beats, feeling all 'fire dancer' about it. And then there was mom, doing this shuffle-and-clapping thing that was more like an interpretive dance of 'I'm trying!' 😂 It wasn't about being good, you know? It was about laughing until our stomachs hurt. Honestly, these little moments are what make our #momanddaughtergoals so real. It’s not always about perfection; sometimes it's just about showing up and having fun together. We filmed some of it, and watching it back, I just crack up every time. The contrast is seriously next level! I mean, I love to dance, it's my passion, and I guess my mom's passion is... cheering me on, mostly! But this whole experience got me thinking. How many of you out there have a parent who's a total non-dancer but still game for a good time? It's so important to cherish those silly, spontaneous moments. If you want to try something similar with your family, don't overthink it! Put on some music you both love, even if it's from totally different eras. Give each other 'moves' to try. Or just free-style and see what happens. The goal isn't to become professional choreographers overnight; it's to create memories. My mom might not be busting out any complex routines, but her willingness to be silly and just enjoy the moment? That's a dance in itself. It reminds me that sometimes the best 'moves' are the ones that bring joy and laughter. And who knows, maybe with a little practice and a lot of encouragement, she might just pick up a step or two. Probably not, but a daughter can dream! 😂 So yeah, if you've ever thought, 'pov she does dance' when watching someone gracefully move, just remember, sometimes the most memorable dances are the ones where someone 'cannot dance to save her life' but tries anyway. It's truly a beautiful thing to share these lighthearted experiences. Don't be afraid to challenge your loved ones to a dance-off, no matter their skill level. It's guaranteed fun!
