When I went through postpartum, one of the toughest feelings was that hidden sadness and disconnect from myself. Like the text on the image says, "You stopped recognizing yourself. You miss your old spark. You miss you." This feeling is more common than many realize, especially when everyone around is saying "you're doing amazing," yet inside, you feel lost. What helped me personally was acknowledging that this phase is normal and temporary. Joining support groups for new mothers and sharing my feelings with others who truly understood, helped me feel less isolated. It’s important to give yourself grace during this time and understand postpartum depression can affect your identity and emotions deeply. Small daily practices like journaling my thoughts, engaging in gentle exercise, or simply taking a few moments for mindful breathing created a space for me to gradually reconnect with the "old spark" inside me. I learned that healing is a journey and it doesn’t happen overnight. If you are a new mama struggling, know that it’s okay to ask for help—from family, friends, or healthcare professionals. Recognizing that postpartum can look different for everyone and reaching out for support is a brave and crucial step. Remember, this too shall pass, and you’re not alone in this journey.
