Plate Dinner with me for my
family of 7 and a half 😋
Sharing meals with a large family or group can be both a joy and a challenge. When you’re feeding 7 and a half people, organization and creativity in the kitchen become essential. From personal experience, plating dinners individually helps everyone feel special and allows portion control, which minimizes waste. To streamline dinner prep, I plan meals that can be partially prepped ahead of time, such as chopping vegetables or marinating proteins. This way, plating is quick and efficient when family gathers at the table. Including a good mix of proteins, vegetables, and carbs ensures a balanced meal that everyone can enjoy regardless of their preferences. Also, involving family members in the process, even the little ones, makes mealtime more fun and encourages them to try new dishes. Using easy-to-serve dishes like casseroles or sheet-pan dinners can eliminate much of the stress associated with cooking for many. One tip I've learned is to label plates or set designated spots if you have picky eaters or specific dietary needs, which can simplify serving. Adding a family touch, like using colorful plates or sharing a story during dinner, turns routine meals into cherished memories. Planning and sharing plated dinners for a large family can truly be a rewarding experience when approached with love and practical strategies.
