As you know, traveling can be a whirlwind, and sometimes, even with the best planning, things just happen! This 'Part 3' of my journey really put my organizational skills to the test. Arriving in Miami with my husband, I realized I had misplaced something super important – an essential 'direct link' I needed for an errand. You know that sinking feeling when you're in a new place and something goes wrong? Well, that was me! Luckily, with a bit of quick thinking and some help, we managed to track it down pretty fast. My biggest takeaway from that moment? Always double-check your essentials before you even leave home, and maybe have digital backups of everything important. It saved me a lot of stress! Then came the train situation. Seriously, has anyone else ever felt like time just speeds up when you’re trying to catch a connection, especially with a little one? I was convinced I was going to miss my train, but somehow, we made it just in the nick of time. Phew! It made me think about how crucial it is to factor in extra time for unexpected delays, especially when you're traveling with a baby. Those few extra minutes can make all the difference. Now, onto the exciting part: Panama! We're heading there this Sunday with the baby, and let me tell you, the 'diligencias' (errands) before a trip like this are endless! From getting all our documents in order to packing for tropical weather, it's a marathon. For those of you planning trips with infants, here are a few things I’ve learned: Packing Smart: Lay out everything you think you need, then cut it in half! Prioritize baby essentials like diapers, wipes, formula/food, comfort items, and a few favorite small toys. Don't forget a first-aid kit for both you and baby. Baby Gear: We're debating between a lightweight stroller or a carrier for navigating busy airports and streets in Panama. Both have their pros and cons! Think about what will be most practical for your destination. Flight/Travel Entertainment: Snacks are your best friend! Also, download some baby songs or shows, and bring a new, small toy to keep them entertained. Time Zones & Sleep: Be prepared for some sleep disruption. Try to adjust your baby's schedule gradually a few days before you leave, if possible. Flexibility is Key: Things will go wrong. Your flight might be delayed, your baby might be fussy. Take a deep breath and remember it's all part of the adventure. I'm so excited for this new chapter in Panama, but also a little nervous about the logistics of traveling with a little one. Wish me luck with the rest of my errands in Miami before we jet off! What are your best travel tips for flying with a baby? Share them below, I'd love to hear your wisdom! ✨
