Warm drinks to support metabolism this winter❄️
I loveee a nice warm beverage during the winter time, and here are 3 that I’ve been drinking that support my metabolism while also warming me up!
I’ll give the recipe as well as the benefits below⬇️
Vanilla cinnamon latte:
Cinnamon supports blood sugar regulation, coffee supports liver health and helps to boost metabolism and milk provides carbs + protein (and fat depending on which you drink) as well as minerals to support metabolism.
I start by soaking a cinnamon stick in milk with vanilla extract for 10 ish minutes, but you could also just mix milk, vanilla + cinnamon powder with your sweetener of choice. Brew your espresso + mix with cinnamon. Heat your milk up + froth it, and pour into a glass. Add your coffee and dust with more cinnamon powder!
Bone broth:
Bone broth provides around 9 grams of protein per serving, and it is so nourishing. It extracts minerals from the animals bones, and can help repair the gut and intestinal lining. This not only supports digestion, but it supports your metabolism by helping your body to absorb more nutrients via better digestion.
You can easily make bone broth, or you can buy it at the store!
Mineral Hot Chocolate (my favorite):
Electrolytes such as sodium, potassium and magnesium support your metabolic rate by providing necessary nutrients to your body that are needed to carry out metabolic activities. When you are stressed, these are depleted quicker, so make sure that you are mineral maxxin!
I loveeee hot chocolate, and this one supports metabolism and nourishment, even better!
I use the chocolate sea salt packet from LMNT for this, but you could also opt for any other chocolate electrolyte packet, or you could add extra cocoa + Himalayan sea salt.
Start by heating a cup of milk on the stove, and whisk in vanilla extract, cocoa powder and sweetener of choice. Add in your chocolate sea salt packet (if using) and mix until combined.
BONUS points if you add gelatin marshmallows (which I will be making ASAP).

Beyond the amazing drinks I shared earlier, I've also discovered a few other warm sips that really kickstart my metabolism, especially first thing in the morning! It's all about making small, consistent choices that make you feel good from the inside out, right? One of my absolute go-to's, especially for a gentle wake-up call, is warm lemon water. I know it sounds incredibly simple, but trust me, it feels incredible. Every morning, I make it a ritual to squeeze half a fresh lemon into a clear mug of warm (not boiling!) water. The vitamin C in lemon is a fantastic antioxidant, and many believe it aids with digestion and detoxification, which indirectly supports a healthy, vibrant metabolism. It’s such a simple ritual, yet it makes me feel lighter, more refreshed, and genuinely energized, setting a positive tone for the whole day. Plus, it's super hydrating after a night's sleep! Another warming drink I've recently fallen in love with for its metabolism-boosting potential is fresh ginger tea. This one is particularly comforting on chilly mornings. I usually slice a few thin pieces of fresh ginger root, add them to a mug, and pour hot water over them. I let it steep for about 5-10 minutes, allowing all those lovely compounds to infuse. Sometimes, I'll add a tiny drizzle of honey or a squeeze of fresh lime for that extra zing. Ginger is well-known for its thermogenic properties, meaning it can slightly increase your body temperature, which in turn can help 'fire up' your metabolism. Beyond that, it's fantastic for digestion and soothing an upset stomach, which, as we know, is crucial for optimal nutrient absorption and overall metabolic health. It's a wonderful addition to my winter drink rotation. Honestly, sometimes just a plain mug of warm water can do wonders! It helps immensely with hydration, aids digestion, and can help get things moving smoothly in the morning. I've personally noticed that simply opting for warm beverages over cold ones, especially during the colder months, makes my body feel more balanced and less 'shocked.' It's like giving your system a gentle hug to ease into the day. It’s not just about the specific ingredients, but the warmth itself providing a comforting and metabolically friendly start to your morning. While there's no magic drink that will make belly fat disappear in a week (we wish that were true, right?!), incorporating these warm, metabolism-supporting drinks into a balanced diet and active lifestyle can definitely contribute to better overall health and a more efficient metabolism. When your body is working optimally, it's naturally better at managing weight and energy. These drinks are wonderful tools to support your journey, not quick fixes, but consistent, healthy habits. I personally feel much more in control of my energy levels and digestion when I make these choices consistently. So whether it's a cozy vanilla cinnamon latte, a rich bone broth, a mineral-packed hot chocolate, or a simple lemon-ginger infusion, finding what works for you and enjoying these warm sips can be a delightful way to support your metabolism all winter long. Cheers to feeling good from the inside out and embracing these nourishing warm drinks!
