Maybe it wasn’t the wrong person. Just the wrong timing.

It’s Different This Time felt comforting, bittersweet, and quietly emotional in a way that stayed with me long after I finished it.

At its heart, this book isn’t just about falling in love. It’s about growing up, chasing dreams, making mistakes, and finding your way back to the people who have always felt like home.

Henry and the female lead start as roommates, slowly becoming each other’s safe space before either of them is ready to admit what they’re feeling. As life takes them in different directions, they’re forced to confront not only their ambitions, but also whether the life they imagined is the one they truly want.

What I loved most about this book was how warm and natural the relationship felt. Their chemistry wasn’t loud or overly dramatic, but instead, it was built through comfort, familiarity, shared struggles, and quiet understanding.

The yearning in this book was honestly so good. 💯

The protective gestures, the emotional tension, and the way they slowly became each other’s safe space without fully realising it… those were my favourite parts.

Beyond the romance, I think this book quietly says a lot about maturity, healing, and second chances too. Sometimes people don’t need to be fixed; they just need time to grow into themselves and someone willing to meet them there.

If you love:

♡ roommates-to-lovers vibes

♡ emotional slow burns

♡ artistic dreamers in New York

♡ comforting but bittersweet romance

♡ yearning and emotional tension

♡ “they were always each other’s person” energy

…you’ll probably really enjoy this one too because I know I did 🤍

And as always, happy reading!! 📚

🥹 Side note for anyone interested about my life: I know I haven’t posted in awhile. I realised I’ve been doing a lot of going but not much sharing.

There’s so many reviews in my drafts and new books I’ve finished and I wanna also share more about what I’ve been up to, so keep a lookout!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

... Read moreReading 'It's Different This Time' reminded me just how powerful timing is in relationships. Often, we label a relationship as 'wrong' simply because the timing isn't ideal, but this story shows that sometimes it’s not about the people being incompatible, it’s about their life journeys not aligning yet. I’ve experienced similar feelings in my own life — falling for someone when both of us were chasing dreams or not ready to be vulnerable. Like Henry and the female lead, sometimes two people need to build a foundation of trust and familiarity before admitting what they truly feel. This slow-burn approach to romance feels so real, reflecting the complexities of forming deep connections. Another aspect that stood out was how the relationship blossomed through small, protective gestures and understanding rather than grand declarations. It reminded me that true intimacy is often found in everyday moments and quiet support, especially when both people are growing into themselves. The setting of New York, with its artistic and dream-chasing vibe, created a perfect backdrop for this story about ambition and self-discovery. It feels relatable for anyone who’s had to decide between following personal goals and nurturing relationships. What I appreciated most was the book's message on second chances and personal growth. It’s a gentle reminder that sometimes people need time to become the version of themselves that can fully embrace love and partnership. For readers who love emotional depth, bittersweet romance, and the roommates-to-lovers trope, this novel offers a refreshing and tender take that stays with you. It’s more than a love story; it's about patience, maturity, and finding your way back to those who feel like home.

Be With The Guy Who Makes Your Life Better
This weekend my partner asked if I wanted to go out. Truthfully, I didn’t feel like it. Lately, I’ve been working till 9–10pm at least three times a week. Between admin and case notes, it easily adds up to almost 60 hours. I was mentally and physically exhausted. But emotionally, I craved his u

Breaking up after 8 years, divorcing after 3💔

The reason why some men are still single in their 30s.. I'm probably going to sound like a hater but... I also hope you guys know how this just doesn't work in a relationship especially the "getting to know you" phase? One of them is an old friend, one of them is a "business

27 felt like the end for me. but that heartbreak was the beginning of everything i needed to learn my worth, my boundaries, my peace, my future. you don’t come out of heartbreak unchanged. you come out closer to the person you were meant to be. did your healing change you too?
