Things I Stopped Doing to Protect My Peace

I was inspired by another Lemon8 creator to share a couple of things that I stopped doing, in order to protect my inner peace.

I'm in my last year of my 20s and have gone through many phases and stages, involving myself in unnecessary gossip and drama, feeling extremely stressed and allowing anyone into my life, without considering how their energy affected me.

Maturing has helped me realise that your inner peace is more valuable than other external or material accomplishments, and I'm now extremely selective about who I allow into my life. Hope this is helpful, or inspires you to look at how you can protect your peace ✌🏻

... Read moreProtecting your peace is crucial, especially in a world filled with distractions and negativity. Here are some effective strategies you can adopt: 1. **Evaluate Your Relationships**: Surround yourself with uplifting individuals. Toxic friendships can drain your energy and impact your mental health. Make a conscious effort to cut out negative influences and build a supportive network. 2. **Establish Boundaries**: It's essential to set clear work-life boundaries. Avoid checking emails or responding to messages after hours to maintain balance. This practice ensures your personal time remains uninterrupted. 3. **Communicate Your Needs**: Be open about your need for space. Communicate with friends and family; letting them know when you need time alone can strengthen your relationships and enhance your mental well-being. 4. **Curate Your Attention**: Be mindful of what you consume daily. Limit exposure to negative news, social media, or anything that does not serve your mental health. Focus on content that inspires and uplifts you, fostering a positive mindset. Implementing these changes can significantly improve your sense of peace and fulfillment in life. It’s a journey worth taking!

Agreed with not sharing news with everyone but coincidentally if I share it then it's less likely to happen. So I like to gatekeep certain things to "lock them in" you know? Idk if it's "evil eye", negative energy, or just coincidence but I realize the importance of keeping things private now
