Helping kids (and adults) build coping skills in a fun way 🧠✨
Restorative board + journal + sensory bottle = real tools for real growth 💛

In my experience working with both children and adults, combining tactile tools like sensory bottles with creative activities such as journaling and drawing on a restorative board has made coping with anxiety and stress more engaging and accessible. Using sensory bottles, for example, offers a soothing visual and tactile experience that can help individuals slow down and regulate their emotions during moments of overwhelm. I have found that encouraging people to draw or write their feelings, much like the prompt "draw your feelings as..." encourages in therapy, facilitates emotional awareness and expression. This practice aligns well with principles from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), which both emphasize mindfulness and emotional regulation skills. In playful yet intentional ways, these tools make mental health practices feel less clinical and more approachable. Sensory play can also assist individuals with ADHD in improving focus and self-control, while journaling provides a safe outlet to track emotions and growth over time. Incorporating these techniques into daily routines has truly supported real, lasting growth and emotional resilience for many I’ve worked with.
