Why such a hurry?
You will get there when you get there.
The thing about doing anything, is that we are always racing to the end. To the final result. This happens while doing any kind of household project, or those dreaded chores, to training, dieting, going to events, rushing home, dragging yourself to work, and on and on.
Some random stats about your day:
Sleep 7 - 9 hours a day (some people anyway, i'm lucky to get 5 lol)
Personal hygiene 1 - 2 hours
Work 8+ hours
Leisure and sports 4.5 - 5.5 hours (A large portion of that is directly related to TV)
Cleaning and Cooking 2 hours
Eating etc 1.5 hours
Commuting 1 hour (I'm 15 minutes and my wife is -3 minutes. Science!)
Maybe that comes to 24 maybe not, you math it. I'm not going to. Point is
Outside of actual sleep, how much of the day do we spend enjoying the moment or the process. We, on average, have 16 hours every day, where we can take pleasure in our lives. where we can be aware and be present, where we can appreciate the little things and enjoy the big.
But instead we squander it. If you're in rush hour traffic, there is little point in allowing yourself to be frustrated. You knew you were going to be in it, you know it will end eventually. I'm sure you planned for this right?!? Right? So why not make the most of it. Listen to some audio books or Sing your favorite song.
Or the dreaded laundry, dishes duo, you know it has to happen, you know it will have an end, so why try to rush through it? We tend to look at what we have already done, and what we have left to do, and so we are simultaneously living in both past and future, Talk about a mind screw! These are the sort of things that lead women to distraction and men to divorce. JK ... Or am I?
Lastly, Down time and the wonder that is TV land,or phone world. How long do we mindlessly watch TV or srcrol on our phone for hours on end only to end the day wishing you could have actually enjoyed it. Sitting there observing life instead of being life. (I do find myself guilty as charged too, and try to limit both) These things steal life if you're not careful. Again, points finger at self too.
So, bottom line. There is a lot of time in your day to be present, thankful and gods forbid, actually enjoy it. So go do that.
