Is it just me?

Sometimes I think I would have made a fantastic 1950s housewife lol. Dinner party etiquette feels so much more attainable than navigating the modern social world.

And I know I shouldn't complain about having wonderful, supportive parents - that's a bit tongue-in-cheek. But I do wonder what it would have been like to, say, plan a wedding following strict etiquette versus the decision paralysis of being told that it was my day and we could do a what we wanted, you know?

... Read moreIn today's fast-paced world, the idea of etiquette often feels overshadowed by ever-changing social norms. The 1950s housewife archetype embodies a time when social gatherings followed clear, defined rules, making interactions straightforward. This longing for simpler times reflects a broader desire for structure in modern life. Planning events in today's world can be overwhelming, especially with the pressure of individual preferences competing with traditional expectations. This dilemma, known as decision paralysis, can lead to stress during significant life moments such as weddings. Many find themselves overwhelmed by the freedom to design their own special day, often longing for the guidance that rigid etiquette once provided. Moreover, understanding modern etiquette involves recognizing the importance of vulnerability in communication. Embracing one's feelings while navigating social interactions can create deeper, more meaningful connections. This reflection invites readers to consider how blending traditional values with contemporary practices can lead to more fulfilling social experiences. Exploring this balance could inspire a more enjoyable approach to both modern events and personal connections.

WHY is there a giant inflatable Kim Kardashian lounging in Times Square like she’s sunbathing at the Bahamas? The Skims swimsuit collab is aggressively viral, I’ll give her that. Did we need a 60-foot Kim replica? My feed’s flooded with tourists posing like they’re climbing Mount Kardashian.
